Oh and for the record I'm a constitutionalist not a republican or democratic that sides with military( I am a vet my mom and dad and grandparents were too) and nature and science and common sense laws. I oppose capitalism and unfortunately it's everywhere.

I did not watch a game of the finals. And I am happy with that decision. When the whole idea of the "continuation" season was proposed I said it was a bad idea and any winner given would have an asterisk. I said this even when I thought we might actually go all the way. That we would have a big fat asterisk over any championship we'd win. And I say that today.

To repeat.

1) This mini extension season happened a month before we should have been starting training camp for the 2020-2021 season. The NBA should have held the draft, practice what a season could be with summer league, and started training camp at the start of September.

2) Part of why this whole thing was dumb was the vast difference in how players were able to keep in game shape during the shutdown. Lebron had state of the art facilities in his mansion. Jaylen Brown got to pretend to be Rocky with Grandpa. And it was considered newsworthy about the lack of much of anything available to Giannis Antetokounmpo. One reason I'm surprised the Bucks did as well as they did. These are things that get balanced out over an entire season as players get themselves back into game shape. Instead we got treated to see teams and players being winded in the 4th quarter of playoff games.

3) This was spearheaded by Lebron because he knew Anthony Davis' past health concerns and he got to get him for a short period of a mini as opposed to a real season. And even then with Davis it was a close call. But Lebron does not get his ring (like the NBA and ESPN wanted so desperately) with a full 82 game season.

Everyone knows this which is why if you don't live in LA you barely care LA won.

4) This farce of an end of the season puts NEXT season in jeopardy and may delay the season after that. Unless they want an already grueling 82 game seasons to happen with little rest between them.

5) I don't mind what Lebron has to say. He just a very imperfect messenger. Especially with all that China stuff. I'll take Jaylen Brown, a politically astute upcoming young leader over him any day. Which is not to say some of Lebron's charitable contributions are not a good thing. I just happen to find his voice grating.

I just read that Bam and Giannis share the same agent.. so Giannis to Miami seems like the better option.. Giannis likes the ball in his hand primarily. Luka dribbles a lot.. Miami Butler Hero and Bam gives Giannis top baller privledge.

I think Miami, Golden State, Dallas, and Lakers are all possible landing spots for Giannis.

Carlisle is a much more creative offensive coach than Bud. He can make offball Giannis work better. Also relieves pressure on Doncic to have a secondary playmaker of Giannis' calibre.

So there's still interest in the NBA. But HOW people watch now is different. Cord-cutting is a thing.

I hope he leaves LA and gets paid. His career earnings in 15 years are about equal to George Hill's in two less seasons.

He fits better with the Mavs though. Bam and Giannis play the same position, and both don’t really have a good outside game. Any team that Giannis goes to with a legit star is an automatic championship contender.

Two 31% three point shooters and oft-injured Porzingis is a lot less scary than people think it’d be.

Giannis plus Luka, even without Porzingis is still a scary good team. Just imagine replacing middleton with Luka. Definitely better than the current Bucks.

Morey is going to be out of a job for a while. I think he's still with Houston if not for his China remarks. Any team that hires him is at risk to be blacked out in one of the biggest international markets in the world. No owner is going to risk it. It's a shame

I don't think he was fired or asked to resign, I buy that he wanted to part ways. Word was that the CP3/Westbrook trade was forced by Tilman Fertitta, in part just because the guy's son wanted Russ on the team. Fertitta probably had strong influence over the Capela trade as well. It wasn't a great situation for Morey to begin with, and it sounds like there were personal motivations in addition.

China is a discussion the league should be having this offseason regardless. There are legit human rights issues at play, and NBA players, at some point, should feel a responsibility to try and leverage their influence over Chinese fans.
