I’m all in on Bane in Brooklyn. He’s perfect for us at 19.

Hollinger also wrote that the Nets have been linked to Washington’s Jaden McDaniels and Serbian 7-footer Aleksej Pokusevski, so here’s a crash course on each.

McDaniels is a 6-9 combo forward from Washington who is known for his athleticism, but Hollinger wrote that he has “barely a trace of offensive skill.” Could the Nets take his potential and mold him into a stretch-four that they need or do they Nic Claxton to fill that void during his second season? McDaniels could fit a need for the Nets, but might have too many concerns to warrant the selection.

Pokusevski is one of the biggest mysteries in the draft as a stretch 7-footer who does a little bit of everything. The Nets’ track record of drafting international players under Marks is well-known, and Pokusevski doesn’t turn 19 until December, which makes him more of a project. With DeAndre Jordan, Jarrett Allen and Claxton on the roster, would Pokusevski spend most of his season in the G League if the Nets were to take him? Or, similar to McDaniels, does Claxton’s stretch-four game make Pokusevski redundant?

Man, this is why I don't like digging deep into the draft. I end up liking a bunch of guys and I feel like we're not even going to keep our pick.

Really like Bey, Bane, Green, and Woodward as 3+D wing guys. All slightly different but I think those guys are ready to contribute right away. Smart players who know their role.

If we're going for a home run, I wouldn't be mad at Jaden McDaniels at all. Hollinger's quote about him not having offensive skill is nuts. His problem is shot selection, maturity, and strength. He shows ridiculous skill for a guy his size. He loves pull up jumpers from 3 and mid. Step back 3s. Fadeaways in the midrange. He was really good on catch and shoot 3s last year. Clearly models his game after someone like KD or Tatum. He's a big risk though. For every MPJ, there's a bunch of Quincy Miller's out there.

We could really use some cheap contracts in 2021.

2021-2022 SALARY

KD 42
Kyrie 35
LeVert 17.5
Harris 15
Prince 13
DJ 10
Claxton 1.8
=
134.3

Whoever we draft at 19 will only make $2-3 million for the first few years of their rookie contract. All we need is that player to be good enough to be part of the 8-9 man rotation by their 2nd season.

I also have the same four players you listed at the top of my list. If anything we should buy a 2nd round pick and get Paul Reed.

I'm really starting to think if it costs LeVert to get Jrue, Marks is going to pass. They're going to want to keep LeVert as the centerpiece to a possible Beal, Harden, etc., trade by next off-season. And then I think he's going to shift to a fit/stopgap trade where he moves up in the draft. Something where some combination of Dinwiddie/Allen/19th/future pick gets us a starting caliber veteran player who can 3&D and we move up in the draft into the lottery, or we keep the 19 and acquire another pick in the teens, then he ships those 2 picks to move into that 9 to 12 range.

I can still see something with Dinwiddie and the 19 for Rubio or Oubre and the 10. Or Curry/Kleber 18 for Dinwiddie, then 18 and 19 sent to Sacramento for the 12, stuff like that. Maybe Dinwiddie and the 19 to Atlanta for the 6. I feel like they'd love to get their hands on Obi Toppin or Onyeke Okonwu, or Deni Avdija, who are all in that 3 to 10 range, or RJ Hampton, whose beginning to rise into that latter end of that range. Maybe Saddiq Bey? I mean this draft actually has a number of intriguing prospects, just the top 3 guys are kids most teams are probably scared to death to risk a top 3 pick on. Once you get in that 4 to 15 range there are some real possible steals and guys who project out as at least average starters, just with some glaring inherent flaws. A lot of them are instant contributor rookies too, with further ceiling.

I wonder if this is the year we see Marks make an aggressive move up for someone. Cash will likely be a motivator around the league more than usual, doesn't seem like a consensus in the lotto. Maybe a good year to move up if they have a conviction on someone (like they supposedly did with Mitchell several years ago).

Would be great to add another young and versatile rotation piece.

In excited to see how this draft plays out. More than any year I can remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Prospects that most believe will go top-10 could still be available when we pick. Guys that aren't currently considered 1st-round material could get picked ahead of us. I'm doing my best not to get attached to any one player, because value, fit and potential could surprise us when it's our turn to pick.

There’s a lot of guys i want... hope to keep

Bey - still my most preferred
Neismith- injury or not
Either Jalen Smith or Josh McDaniels... i lean towards Smith
Bane as well

The least interested out of my bunch(but won’t cry) is RJ Hampton which is the most linked to us

i dont see any scenario where we keep the pick. even if he is still on the roster tommorow its a matter of time between now and dec 22nd until he is gone.

harden or no harden we need defenders and that guy is likely part of a deal.

if we dont have a trade moving #19 for a future pick is the way to go

selecting a player to keep on the roster seems like an awful idea

nbatv is a bit better but still awful.

no countdown clock to the next pick. no build up to the pick. the commisioner should be coming to a podium somewhere announcing these

awful production. producer should be fired

That's a good pick for them in my opinion. Melo wasn't really a need and they probably did extensive work on Wiseman. He's gunna be solid.

Klay Thompson news doesn't sound great - but I think they took the best fit with Wiseman.
