At least you keeping it 100. Teams like Indiana and Cleveland are prepped for their era as powers. But they bit the bullet early. It all evens out.
If one sees the advantage of those extension eligible players and the salary slot it brings in value to your payroll or roster. Then target acquring those players. Which is why Bagley and his $59 was attractive to me.
But the gamble is why would a team trade them in the first place if everything is so peachy? So you look at a gamble on a guy like Bags who has been solid (he has been no bust at all, his #s actually are super consistent at 14/8 his first two seasons IRL and in the SIM). Yet he still has the upside to get to about 20+ / 10+ in pts/rebs. So you gamble on that type if you can acquire it. Cuz that'll be the only extension eligible type that comes available with that type of upside.
But the shortsighted types scoff at dudes like Bags yet try to acquire established studs like Luka, Ayton, SGA, etc. Wtf would the GM trade THEM to you?
