Why would we possibly want Gordon Hayward?

He's a pretty good basketball player?

Pretty good shouldn't get you paid $34M next season, he'll never be the same guy he was before the injury and he was probably the one of the most overrated players in the league back then too. Remember Utah didn't miss Hayward at all when he walked for nothing and neither would Boston. If we can afford Hayward we can figure out a way to afford CP3 and anybody that would prefer Hayward over CP3 is quite frankly dumb.

To make the CP3 trade I think there needs to be a 3rd team involved. I think the Twolves would be a great team to target for Bledsoe. He could fit in really well there and actually play defense for them. They are trying to win too. Something like their Nets pick and JJ’s expiring contract. Flip the pick and the contract to OKC.

I think GS could maybe be a good place to reroute our veterans since I don't think they're getting another star to go with their big 3 & they really need depth/defense/size which we can send. Wiggins/#2/filler to OKC for Bledsoe/Brook/filler and CP3/filler to Milwaukee is rough outline I have, I've got it pretty close to working in trade machine. Not sure GS goes for it but getting #2 for CP3 even in a **** draft would be a pretty decent haul even if they have to take Wiggins.

Do the Bucks have anything worthwhile to get the #2 from the Wolves? Is Midds the only thing? Bledsoe probably gets you outside top 10.

Considering how much these teams with top picks want to trade down should tell you how terrible this draft it, Khris is worth way more than the #1 this year.

Someone come up with a trade that gets us Paul with Minny getting a win now piece from us.

Apparently this works (via tradenba.com):

Bucks: CP3
OKC: DJ, Ersan, James J, Sterling, Indy 2020 1st, Bucks 2021 1st.
Minny: Bled, Brolo.

Sterling is RFA and we cannot trade our 2021 1st. I like Bled in Minny though, but many Wolves fans disagree and even want to be compensated for taking on Bledsoe's contract. Recency bias is really tanking his value in the public scope, hope it's different in NBA circles.

There's absolutely no way that a team would have to be compensated to take Bledsoe.

We just hand Boston a dynasty if Giannis doesn't supermax this year?

That's a losers' mentality. Create a winning roster for the season, get a championship & let him make his decision.

It really isn't. It's a realistic one. Very tough decisions will need to be made this off-season regardless of his decision. If he doesn't sign it then that, to me, is a sign that his focus has shifted away from the Milwaukee Bucks. Ours will need to as well.

Why do you say it's shifted away from the Milwaukee Bucks? What if he just wants to put more pressure on the organization to continue to push? This organization has put all their eggs in the Giannis basket. I can't see them trading him even if they can't get a long-term deal in place this off-season.

In an offseason when Davis Bertans might get $17 million/yr and Fred Van Vleet is being bandied about as a $20 million/yr guy, Eric Bledsoe as a cheaper than both of them with last year partially-guaranteed guy will absolutely be an asset. He won't get a superstar's return, but a team will view him as a net positive.

Giannis won't be resigning with the Bucks unless they convince him that we're committed to improving the roster and winning now. If he doesn't sign long term, my assumption is that he no longer feels he can win here.

I'm not sure the Bucks will make that move either but it's the move I feel needs to be made.

Shams:

An expected strong suitor for Kings restricted free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic: The Milwaukee Bucks, sources said. Milwaukee will pursue additional playmaking and shooting this offseason to bolster the roster around their two-time MVP, Antetokounmpo, and All-Star Khris Middleton.

I was hoping we traded for Bogdan before the start of last year but better late than never.

Bogdan would be a nice piece. Would Bud suddenly transition from the five-out D'Antoni style stuff to heavy pick-and-roll?
