Hi Melo!

Frank at 170/2 stands out too...

The 2017 NBA draft was included in the league wide auction where we all bid on all the players in the NBA. That's why those rookies have some crazy contracts.

Oh damn. I guess it was "fair" since those were the rules of the game and the consensus was with it. But I would think a one time scaling back on an agreed upon proportion would help. Crazy, lol.

Learn your lesson, adapt and move on. Some people are playing the NBA when they build teams, some people are playing the sim. We live in a world here in which Harden is the most complete two way player around next to Davis probably in this sim. Never in a million years would I trot out this defense if this was based completely on real life. We'll see who learned their lessons when the league in two years pretty much resets itself.

$59 and averaged 14/8 at PF in the SIM last season. I'll take it.

But I can expect a lack of patience and rush to judgment from the GM who traded young Lauri for heartbroken Love, and took on salary to do it.

Which has literally nothing to do with what I said, but you been off your game with Hoffa playing his Jedi Mind Tricks on you. Bagley was the first overall selection in the draft and has yet to receive an extension where as the second overall and third overall picks in the same draft already have. [Ayton and Luka]

What's that? You just traded for Bagley this offseason so that has absolutely nothing to do with you? I know... that's the point. You just saw Bagley and felt the need to go ramble ramble ramble. Cmon 2010, you a lot better than this. You're not on a different level, you're not playing chess while the rest of us are playing checkers.

What hoffa have to do with your conversation with me tho? That's clown commentary so I'ma ignore it.

You dissing Bags has nothing to do with me, the person. Yet you are attempting to devalue/discredit the player. And you are inaccurate. So you tried to sneak-diss a player and made yourself look like the checkers player.

Bags production has been rock solid. 14/8 IRL and in the SIM. The negatives are the injuries IRL. Yet that is proven to have zero bearing on the SIM.

As for extensions. So what if guys like Luka, Ayton, SGA have already been extended? A guy like Bags upside is still well within reach on time for him to still be granted a 3-year extension. Which when given will still make him much cheaper than acquiring Kevin Love, or even Lauri, who was still much more expensive than Bagley while you had him.

The chess game is to look for players like Bags, who are attainable, extendable, yet still have upside.

mpharris36 wrote:absolutely. But look at the other picks around them. Those instantly get perceived as bad value contracts...because there are even vets that are underpaid.

We had Slicin paying Spencer Dinwiddie $1 for 3 years. If you get great value you did your homework and probably also got a bit lucky.

I've seen Jackson and Dennis Smith get traded, there are no bad contracts if you're willing to try and move them apparently. All kidding aside, sometimes you roll the dice and hit on a guy, sometimes your sitting on a dollar contract. Look at Hezi, he's putting a lot of faith in Graham paying off for him next year in the sim, but he still has a great contract, same with Nunn.

Funny how so many teams had all those crippling contracts, a lot of those contracts are pretty much gone, things can quickly turn around in BAF.

yeah I mean myself and context a few others have swallowed some of those horrible contracts for assets with the buyout close for assets. In two years it will be interesting to see how FA is handled with a majority of the big name players hitting the market. There will always be overpays but I think many people started to get the hang of what may or may not work in the SIM...I think the most egregious ones were the players signed to major contracts who were rookies. That is where production didn't match up to contract the most as we even see in rookies and 2nd year players today where the SIM takes a while to catch up to on court production.

The SIM also keeps hapless vets around for more production then they are worth as well.

I keep saying some people are gonna want an amnesty provision after the contracts that get handed out this offseason too.

Which is why I keep tryna warn GMs to not dumb out at Hoffa's behest this offseason and to show some restraint.
