This. Bucks are pinched financially. Like to see some of you cap experts break down how to pull off a Bogdan S/T.
You agree on a number, and you piece together our contracts to match that number in trade. It doesn't take substantial maneuvering. It takes willingness from Sacramento to make the move and maybe like the guy we drafted with the Indiana pick.

I like Middleton a lot more than the rest of this board, but I wonder if there's any chance they're floating a Middleton for Bogdan and Buddy type of deal. Does that even work financially? Haven't looked.

Then somehow getting Paul into the mix?

That'd be an awful lot of shaking up, and makes us worse defensively.

I’m assuming Bogdan is going to be asking for ~$15M/year. I don’t see Sacto wanting Bledsoe, so that leaves contracts like Ersan, DJ and maybe RoLo. Not sure Sacto believes expirings and #24 is worth it.

I don't think they'd move Middleton unless they felt they were getting a legit upgrade over him.

Yeah, I don't either, I just don't know how else they would expect to be strong suitors for Bogdan.

Yeah, it does seem a bit out of reach, but I'm just hoping for some kind of Brogdon/Pacers type thing to happen lol. Even though the Kings have a new GM, my hope is Vivek still tries to play with his toys and makes another blunder. I remember watching a draft video with Vivek and how he was enamored with Nik Stauskas. I could see him being talked into a back-to-back all defensive PG or another poo poo platter asset.

If we're moving Bledsoe for him, I'd assume that means we're punting on CP3. Then I guess I'd just be left wondering if Bogdan is enough of an improvement over Bledsoe to push us over the hump and I think that answer is probably no.

There would certainly have to be other dominoes to fall. I'm not suggesting just trade Bledsoe for Bogdon and call it a day and I don't think he's a replacement for Bledsoe either. Put him at the two and you'd have to find your PG in the draft or via trade. I'm hoping for a decent shakeup outside of Giannis/Middleton.

It's been reported that Bogdon was unhappy with his bench role in Sacramento. If that's the case, you're looking at a situation pretty damn similar to Brogdon's here. They can keep the guy against his will and create more issues, allow his value to deteriorate in the process, or they can cash in.

Yea I imagine if they get Bogdan and Bledsoe is out they will also be looking at guys like Dinwiddie or Schroder at PG if CP3 isn’t feasible financially.

Need recruiter Giannis to work his magic and get Bogdan to demand out.

I would be happy with getting Bogdan and CP3 or Schroder.

Pass on Dinwiddie. I know this board loves him, but he's a big meh for me. Would rather have Schroder.

The Pacers had a lot more financial space to accommodate Brogdon than the Bucks do to to bring in Bogdan. Bledsoe or Brook would need to be moved or I just don’t see how it works for the Bucks cap wise.

George Hill contract could be involved too and keep Bled. But, think he wore out his welcome in Scto already. They could move him elsewhere though.

Just be aware that in a sign and trade, Sacramento is only allowed to take back half of their outgoing salary. Since we don't have cap room, it'll need to be a 3 team trade, or trade Bledsoe for picks and a TPE.

It can't be Bledsoe to the Kings for Bogdan.

Posted this on Eric’s Athletic article, but here is my idea

Bucks out:
Bled
Brook
DJ
Ers

Bucks in:
Patty Mills
Lamarcus Aldridge
Rudy Gay

All 3 of these players are on expiring deals. Bucks go all in for one year on veteran players around Giannis and Middleton. Bled and Brook are downgraded defensively, but the offense becomes more malleable. The Bucks finally get a player in Rudy Gay that is a huge upgrade over Ers (I’m sorry Ers) and the retired Marvin Williams.

Next season they all come off the cap and the Bucks have a shot to bring a big fish in with Giannis (Giannis’ time to recruit)

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
