Why trade Norm for Dieng, Grayson and #40? I mean he opts out 2021, that's for sure. Doesn't make sense just to get a expiring Dieng.

Dieng is a solid role playing center. Rebounds, blocks, can pass here and there and hits the 3 on occasion. He's in a contract year and we currently have no center. Thats why.

dieng makes 17.25 million, i rather throw that number at marc gasol for 1 year and keep norm.

all this trade does it create a bigger leak while plugging in a small leak. Centers like dieng can be had on the free agent market for mle level.

I get where you are coming from but to me you only keep 1 of Gasol and Ibaka anyway and this deal doesn’t stop you from that really. But here is my thinking on the rest of it. Norm might get injured or have an off year, opt in and then you are stuck giving up an asset to get off him. Or if he’s great, he opts out and you can’t keep him because his cap hold is too high to maintain the space. This opens up guard minutes for three unproven controllable assets at small numbers -Allen, Davis and Thomas. Plus you get another cheap controllable asset with the #40. You can keep all of them and still throw max at Giannis even if Fred stays. All of them have the opportunity to prove they are real team controllable assets at the 2 guard. This is about building up the asset base for a max free agent. You can’t sell performance of guys who you won’t be able to keep.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I'm high on Wood too especially at that projected price. I'd rather have him than Harrell because of his ability to stretch the floor.

We should've and could've had wood years ago, so if MLE is his going rate we should offer that at 12.01 whenever FA starts with the promise of a starting position available.

I'd still try and being back Ibaka as well

Imagine we went after him instead of Boucher? Wood is everything we want Boucher to be.

Offer the MLE for 4 years with max raises and a player option 4th year. He could get a big contract when he's still 28.

Maybe he'd prefer a 3 year MLE with the 3rd year being a player option?

ya its too bad but it means Raptors scouts and mgmt have the eye for potential talent being realized. Boucher was probably more developed and the Raptors were looking for more 'win now' players at the time. (possibly)

I'm not really a fan of Kuzma and honestly believe he has one of the lowest IQs in the league. But with reports coming out that numerous teams are interested in his services. I got a feeling Raptors are one of those teams.

Rockets will be without a doubt one of the top suitors for Ibaka.
I wonder if they'd entertain a sign and trade for Covington or Gordon. 1 for 1 swap.
Personally I'd do Ibaka for Covington in a heartbeat. I think Rockets would rather move Gordon though. Not sure if I'd be down for that.

Covington's contract may compromise our cap space in 2021. I think the only interest I'd have from Houston would be PJ Tucker on his one year deal.

Rockets have 130M in salary next season....What makes you think they are suitors....?

The only way they can get Serge, other than only offering him a MLE is with a S+T which is extremely difficult to do since salaries need to match very close to 1/1. Their contracts, in my opinion, say thats impossible.

Warriors get their 6th man and a player that can step in for Klay in case of load management or Wiggins if he's struggling.
Raptors get an intriguing prospect and a potential lottery pick in a very strong draft. Also frees up some more cap space for next summer.

Yup, they can fit him into the Iguodala trade exception.

Yeah...not to poopoo it, as I like the idea but the Warriors could do better than Powell with that TPE and Paschal is cheap for the Warriors. Cheap is important as with 4 players totalling 130 mm next season, Powell is going to cost the Warriors a lot more than 10mm.

Just an aside, that trade is way over valuing Powell, a young prospect plus a FRP that could turn into a lotto pick for Powell? Just can not see the Warriors or any team giving that for him.

To Grizz: Norm, McCaw, Stanley
To Raps: Dieng, Grayson Allen, #40

Salaries are pretty much dead on for next year. Opens 2021 space. Dieng is expiring but serviceable plus really not needed in Memphis. Grayson Allen is a 2nd draft guy I don’t love but worth a shot. Dieng and Norm have the same agent and this is an improved situation for both. 40th pick is great range to get another guy to develop on a cheap deal. Maybe try to get another future 2nd from Memphis.

RAther just re-sign Ibaka to one year contract and trade Norm for Zubac.

Terrible deal for Bucks. Giannis and Westbrook could not co-exist.
