Once Westbrook is done, and I do believe it's close, his level of competitiveness will become a drawback.

And we would get to pay him over $100M for the next 3 years if we sign him. Just think of what we won't be able to do if we do sign Russ. Sad times ahead for us, once again.

I hate Westbrook in NY... but he was literally 3rd team All-NBA THIS year
Bad fit. Shoots worse than Frank. No thank you.
I agree, but I was speaking more so about Westbrook the player, not the fit on the Knicks.

Please Knicks don't sign Westbrook... Don't even look that way. Much better going after
FVV (better than Westbrook IMO)
Rose (cheap)
CP3 (best of the bunch)
Dragic (cheap, coming off injury)
Don't waste player development and cap space by signing Westbrook. It would be the definition of "Knicks gonna Knick"

I'd take Dragic for cheap, hes still young has a lot left in the tank, but then again we really need to stop trading for hurt /injury prone players. He's fine now. Is it crazy how we haven't had a decent starting line up, its been so spotty at the 1 since...thinks really hard.
Yet another conundrum.

If you have no critics you'll likely have no success.

I think a lot of teams would take the starting PG of a nba finals team for cheap

Knicks don't need to make any moves. In Thib's 8 years of coaching he has only had two seasons under 45 wins. This team has the talent to go at least .500 this year with Thib's forcing them to play elite defense. They aren't going to win the championship in 20-21, so enjoy the huge improvement and hope that Thibs can get the young guys to punch out of their weight class like he did with the Derrick Rose Bulls.

They’re not starting the rumors, nor do they care about your disengagement.
No kidding?

Thibs loves vets and hates young guys.
NY needs a point guard badly.
Would you rather sign Fred Van Vleet for 4 years 80+ million or trade the number 27th pick, Portis, DSJ, Knox and Ellington for Chris Paul who has 2 years and 80 mil left.

you think hes at his best sharing the court with Harden and a bunch of 6' ers under D'Antoni?
hes a pitbull
he should play for a guy like Thibs
He’s only been with Houston one season. He was already on the decline pre-Houston and is getting worse. He’s on the wrong side of 30 and his game is based on athleticism. Plus can’t shoot in a league that values shooting. I’m not even talking about the garbage contract. That’s just the cherry on top.
You need to stop valuing style over substance. The Knicks have been doing that for 2 decades under Dolan. It’s led them nowhere.
i dont overvalue style over substance
i value impact and leadership over upside and salary
guys like Westbrook or Paul both have valid pros and cons
but this kind of absolutist commenting is silly
saying hes on a decline when he won MVP 3 years ago isnt saying that much
and hes hardly on a crashing decline
but if you see him as a player who woudlnt make us better, when hes a top player at a crucial position we are terrible at, then we will simply disagree
if you see him as a bad use of $ then sure, thats a debate
or if you see him as a guy who wont play out his contract at its value then again sure. though his contract is 3 years remaining and I think its safe to say hes going to be more than effective that long
