That's because being "like Lebron" takes hard work and his skillset is nearly impossible to duplicate. Making 10 Finals is hard. A lot harder than winning 6 if you think about it. How many players have ever made 10 Finals? I can count 3: Kareem, LeBron, Russell. Again, it needs to be said, making 10 Finals is hard. That is why only 3 players have ever done it. As for "playing like LeBron" that too is incredibly hard to do. You would need to pair the scoring of MJ, the passing of the great Magic, and the Rebounding of Tim Duncan. That type of player doesn't normally exist. Therefore, since it is relatively impossible to become LeBron he is hard to "wanna be like him."

The only right answer is Paul Pierce

Kareem always gets shafted in these polls.

All-Time leading scorer
Six MVPs
Six Rings
19-time All-Star
A staggering 25.4 Win Share season.
A lot of other records...

Being ranked my most as being the third greatest player of all time in a sports league that has been around for over 70 years is "getting shafted?"

It’s not the placement, it’s the amount of votes.

MJ is the GOAT.

Lebron with another ring + Fmvp puts him in the conversation. All that + another regular season MVP probably dethrones MJ.

What Lebron is really lacking is a DPOY award, but I think he more than makes up for that in longevity.

Its probably a 60/40 split in MJs favor right now, but boy this is as close as anybody has ever come in taking the #1 spot. Its very reachable for Lebron if he keeps playing and winning at this high level.

He has third most all time best votes. I still seem to be missing your point. He is top 3 by most and top 5 by nearly every one that knows what they're talking about. I don't know if I'd call that shafted, if anything it shows that there is a clear gap between #2 and #3 greatest if anything.

Bill Russell is my GOAT. Wilt and Kareem share 2nd. MJ and LeBron follow.
If you're asking me who the Mavs best player is, I'd say Luka. A guy like Delon Wright probably rivals his impact though at this stage in his career. KP may as well if he gets his **** together.

Can mods make it a rule that we can't make these threads? It's already enough that we have this debate in other threads that's irrelevant to the GOAT discussion.

I always wonder why Kareem gets underrated in this conversation and that Tim Duncan gets overlooked at all. Really underrated carreer.

*260 playoff games.

lebron has now been the clear-cut best player in the finals 8 times and is still the best in the world in his 17th/18th season, east... west... don't matter, lebron is a one man dynasty.

How many more years, yet still chasing the ghost.
