clear-cut best player in the finals 8 times (10 total) in a more talented league > 6 rings/fmvps in the 90s and does context matter with rings or not? irving/love don't go down in 2015 and the best regular season of all-time in 73-9 warriors don't sign another mvp due to cap spike, are we talking 7 rings now? 6 rangz though.

mvps, voter fatigue/narratives play huge part here so this could easily be 5-5, 6-6, 6-5 etc.

dpoy, meh... lebron was robbed of one in 2013.

scoring/assists champ, lebron does both at higher level.

lebron had the higher peak and it's not even close longevity wise.

Love all the excuses and what if scenarios. Keep them coming!

*260 playoff games.

lebron has now been the clear-cut best player in the finals 8 times and is still the best in the world in his 17th/18th season, east... west... don't matter, lebron is a one man dynasty.

Also 07 finals not the best.
11 he was not even the best in his team.
17 got man handled by durant.
18 got sweept
20 butler by himself won 2 games with rookies. And was the best player in the finals.
So he been arguably the best in the other 6.
There was no question who was the best from 88-98

You're a funny fellow and the more I post on this website the more I realize his. You said "17 got man handled by durant."

I'm not sure if people remember but LeBron is the only reason the Warriors didn't go 16-0 that year. They went 15-1. 12-0 swept the West outright. LeBron was able to grab one win against one of the greatest teams in NBA history, something no other Western team could do in the previous 3 playoff series. Moreover, LeBron played incredible in that 2017 Finals, with 34-12-10 on 56%. LeBron was hardly "man handled" if anything he stopped the whole "16-0" run that no other team could do, even with 12 tries.

Seriously, i have seen threads closed faster than the creator could hit refresh...why is this still open? This is like the 1000th thread on the same topic and its well established there's no real answer.

(of course i'm equating GOAT to greatest winner. maybe the term should be more clearly defined, if it includes greatest scorer, greatest shooter, greatest TV ratings, greatest sales of personal shoes, greatest box office movie, etc.)

Chamberlain holds 72 NBA records, 68 by himself. Among his records are several that are considered unbreakable, such as averaging 22.9 rebounds for a career or 50.4 points per game in a season, scoring 100 points or 55 rebounds in a single game, scoring 65 or more points 15 times, 50 or more points 118 times.

Why we gotta see Lebron threads every other day.

Why Lebron stans gotta try to force him being Goat down our throats

Why Jordan stans keep sucking of a 50 year olds D.

Why we wasting our time spewing the same old regurgitating nonsense.

Maybe it's a good thing. Somethings are better in the imagination.

TBO I wouldn't expect something as good as Kobe's 81 for example.

Given the (expected) results of the poll, I think we should do a follow-up in a new thread+poll: "assumimg Jordan is the GOAT, who's the 2nd best all time?" I think this will be a more interesting one.
If you have more "Posts" than "And1", don't feel bad if I didn't reply to you - I just don't like to speak with people who argue a lot

All I care about is rings. But the 60s don't count because of weak competition. So there's really no question...

Oh the chase is over now, I think you might have missed the thread where Real GM declared Lebron the GOAT. I don't think its anything to be ashamed about as a Jordan fan. He was goat for at least 18 years (1998 to 2016) or even 22 years (1998 to 2020). If Lebron can maintain his GOAT status for 22 years I will be impressed because this league is filled with talented players but I question their consistency. LeBron pretty much never took a break for his entire career. He made 9 Finals in the last 10 years. If that ever gets duplicated and that person ends up with more than 7500 playoff points then I can declare them the new GOAT. I don't see that happening but if it did I would have to be realistic.

So Lebron has only led the league twice in Ppg but he’s still going to finish first in points all time.. all this who’s goat talk comparing the two just makes Jordan look type Kobe-ish.. all he did was score a lot of points before Pippen came along :dontknow:

Lebron been the goat for a while now.. I bet if Morris would have passed the ball back to him And he would have made that open jumper to close out game 5 instead of throwing it out of bounds no body would be talking about this
