eh, if we took hayes at 8 would we really need to draft a 2nd PG at 27
Hayes could play as SG. I would not miss an opportunity to draft Kira at 27.
I could see that if we thought he was the BPA
my bigger concern would be stunting the growth of Hayes by playing him out of position, something this organization loves to do. If we're drafting a PG play them at PG. Enough of this
Although, a late 1st rounder or 2nd rounder probably wouldn't be starter quality right out of the gate but there's a higher probability that the guy taken at 8 would be capable of starting. This doesn't mean a year or two down the road that could change or in certain rotations this season that line up wouldn't be tried for a stretch.
The last thing we would want is to depend on the 6-5 guy being able to be the full time PG and find out they aren't quite ready to defend other team's 1s yet. Yea, I guess DSJ is still on the roster but he hasn't shown a great ability to play off ball with any efficiency so to have other options doesn't hurt.
Of course Frank can defend 1s and let Hayes/Hali defend 2s is another thing to consider. I still see no reason why taking a good typical sized PG in a draft that has talent deep into it of the type of two way players which are harder to find anyway in most years.
