I would pass on FVV because we'd overpay and because there are alternatives, but if the goal is to go max cat hunting, then FVV on a reasonable contract is not a bad thing, miscast in the short-term as a 1st option or not. We can even deal with him being miscast for a while, if we're confident that we will get the other pieces to come.

However, if you got a point about FVV, let's leave Randle out of this. If you wanted a comparison, it would have been better to compare FVV to Morris, who was miscast as a 1st option, but still was able to play with George and Leonard because of his off-ball gifts. I despise these comparisons with Randle, because it makes it seem like Randle is that level or that type of player, and he's not. Unlike FVV, Randle can't play with stars. I do agree Randle is miscast as a 1st option, but I'd also have to say that Randle is miscast as a 2nd, 3rd and possibly 4th option too.

Is there a rumored offer or speculated offer on Westbrook?

I sure hope not. Hard pass. But here's the latest from your boys CP and JEllis. I would take Chris Paul before Westbrook.

for me the worst possible offseason moves are:

1. trading for Westbrook
2. signing Gallo for big money
3. trading for players like Schröder or Hardaway
4. not trading away Randle
5. drafting a non shooter

No rumor on specifics, just conjecture based on who has cap space and which team, if mentioned, would get the most clicks lol.

It just seems like the rumors this year are all based around cap space and ex Rose clients. That's basically the mold. Add in ridiculous cost for the Knicks in these deals and you have lousy speculation.

Paying assets to help OKC salary dump a ridiculous contract? Bring back Melo? Westbrook? Paul George? I have seen some of the dumbest rumors imaginable. Now we got Rondo in the mix? Good Lord to see writers need clicks!!!

Of all of the rumors...I could get behind a Rondo signing but....why would he come here? He would definitely help players learn their roles and get the ball to everyone where they need it. Not a bad idea but again...why would he?

Longest off season ever keeps dragging along!!!

When’s the last time you watched Rondo?
Rondo for the past few seasons could shoot. He was lights out this game 7 too. Banging 3s.

This is a losing situation. No pressure? Have you seen the fan base and the media here? I don't know how much money they would even offer but....he can go to a winning situation and live the good life. Makes no sense to come here and wallow in misery like everyone else.

Rondo would never come here when he can play for a contending team, if not the World Champs. Plus, I don't see him being at that stage where he'd be content to help develop a young PG.

Trade suggestion

Post#2038 » by nyk2017 » Sun Oct 18, 2020 2:10 am

I have a trade thought. 2020 draft is a weak draft without any clear cut franchise player. We need a PG like Ball. Can we pull off a trade to move up in the draft such as:

GSW get Knox, DSJr, #8 pick

NYK - Wiggins, #2 pick

Wiggins has definitely proven himself to be over rated. GSW need the cap flexibility to continue to compete during Klay's and Curry's prime. They can perhaps hope to get some value in the #8 pick to be a role player. They may be able to use Knox and DSJr is a way that takes the pressure off them. We get #2 pick and Ball. We also get Wiggins who may not be great, but I doubt we will be competing in the next 3 years and so not as much of a salary albatross.

Thoughts, or just too stupid of a trade possibility.

Rondo's my favorite player, so I don't want him to come here. I want him to stay on a contender and win more rings.

Only way I'd really want him is if we got LaMelo, who is the kind of savant passer that Rondo can relate to, and if he really just wanted to be a mentor off the bench in NY. At least he actually knows what it takes to have a long career in the league and win. Also, he wouldn't ruin our tank

i'd certainly do that trade, I don't think the warriors would though, they want to win a championship not trade for guys like knox and dsj
