lebron has now been the clear-cut best player in the finals 8 times and is still the best in the world in his 17th/18th season, east... west... don't matter, lebron is a one man dynasty.

By this logic, Karl Malone > Lebron

I’m very impressed that Karl finished with 5k assists. I doubt KD will even manage that.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

How many more years, yet still chasing the ghost.

Oh the chase is over now, I think you might have missed the thread where Real GM declared Lebron the GOAT. I don't think its anything to be ashamed about as a Jordan fan. He was goat for at least 18 years (1998 to 2016) or even 22 years (1998 to 2020). If Lebron can maintain his GOAT status for 22 years I will be impressed because this league is filled with talented players but I question their consistency. LeBron pretty much never took a break for his entire career. He made 9 Finals in the last 10 years. If that ever gets duplicated and that person ends up with more than 7500 playoff points then I can declare them the new GOAT. I don't see that happening but if it did I would have to be realistic.

This post has to take the price for the most nonsensical ramble on the G.O.A.T. topic. Do you even understand what G.O.A.T. means.

Kareem, MJ, LeBron are top 3. Put them in whatever order you want.

Hes talking about some thread made on the lebron circlejerk board. You had to apply and be approved by some other panel. To get to vote.

What a absolut unit of a stat padder.

Obviously joking. I did not know that he held 68 records thats insane. :o shame we dont have a video of that 100 point game

Those are without blocks and steals being recorded at the time. If blocks had been recorded he probably would have added a a couple or even handful of records extra.
If you're asking me who the Mavs best player is, I'd say Luka. A guy like Delon Wright probably rivals his impact though at this stage in his career. KP may as well if he gets his **** together.

MJ is the GOAT to me because of two reasons, Jason Terry and J.J. Barea. If Lebron didn't p%ss the bed against the Mavs, I might consider him the GOAT but damn, I can't stop thinking about how JT & JJ punked Lebron in 2011. It still shocks till this day.

Still Wilt.
Messi. Jordan. Ali. Bolt. Senna. Serena. Karelin. Phelps. Rossi. Suleymanoglou. The GOATs.

MJ no doubt!
Lebron probably 4th or 5th best all time.
He can’t take back all those 6 finals losses and that choke job against the Mavs was hilarious! 8pts in almost 46mins????? In a finals game? Against JJ Barea and Jason Terry? Wtf hahaha

1- MJ
2- Bill Russell
3- Larry Bird

Lebron might be 7th behind Kevin McHale, John Havlicek and Bob Cousy...

I take Jordan for now. Lebron's 4 rings have some astericks each:
2012 - lockout season
2013 - Allen and Bosh saved him.
2016 - Irving, injuries, DQ saved him.
2020 - bubble season

Please tell me this is a prank... and Ashton Kutcher put you up to this.
What's up with this asterisks logic? If LeBron haters can place asterisks to all his rings, then LeBron homers are allowed to place asterisks to all the Finals he lost since 2011:
2011 - first time in the playoffs with a new team
2014 - incredible record setting Spurs offense
2015 - first time in the playoffs with a new team, Kyrie injury
2017 - GSW stacked, Big 4
2018 - GSW stacked, Big 4
I can't believe I just wrote that, it doesn't make any sense, just like you asterisks don't. You win 4 games in the Finals, you're the champion. You are the best player on a winning team, you're named FMVP. Period.

I am a statistician by training and telling me that numbers don't matter is like telling a 5-year-old there's no Santa! :D
But I forgive you coz you might as well be the first person to ever tell me that my points make sense when even I don't think they do.

There is no Santa, whattt ?!? ;)

Well, I didn't say numbers don't matter at all, but when talking about basketball they are certainly not all that matters.

I have MJ>LBJ. There are a lot of reasons why MJ>LBJ, but those “asterisks” are not one of them.
MJ is the GOAT, but LeBron can be if he does 2 of the following:
[X] Win another FMVP
[ ] Win another MVP
[X] 40K/10K/10K career

Yup that's the sweet hilarity of it all. And another example of how hilariously dull this debate is when it comes down to it. "You're brainwashed, X is better than Y!" "No u"

EL BJ is as close as they've come to MJ's throne and I don't blame people for getting excited. Keep arguing one way or the other as it suits you. I'm just hear to laugh and make my own petty judgements. Way more fun than the actual debate itself.
