Eric Gordon and Houston ‘22 1st for Tony Snell
Eric Gordon and 2022 Rockets 1st for Tony Snell
Fertitta saves immediate and long-term money without blowing up the core.
Pistons add a first while adding a useful overpaid player.

Re: Eric Gordon and Houston ‘22 1st for Tony Snell
Wow, no. Gordon misses a ton of games, is largely ineffective, is owed $75 million over 4 seasons.
The mandate/reasoning why we traded for Griffin is gone. It would need to be multiple 1sts to Detroit and probably a 3rd team involved getting Snell for a non expiring going to Houston.

Last 20m is only gtd if he becomes an All Star of the team wins a championship, so you get to dial the number down to ~54.6m
Subtract Snell's 12m, and it is 'just' 42.5m. Which is still too much for that pick, and Detroit should pass.

Last thing the rockets should do is trade more picks...then again fertittas broke *** may try to shed salary that way

Doesn’t help. Houston wants to swap Gordon for Griffin, I’m listening. I think he makes sense for Houston.

No here as well. Maybe Tilman would be all over it, but as a fan, I wouldn't. Worse on the court, and we lose our only tradeable asset. Whether we're looking to compete or rebuild, it doesn't help.

Houston doesnt care abt trading picks as long as it reduces their tax bill. But then again they can just trade Harden for expiring and picks so its not guaranteed they will give away picks.
If im the gm, I would easily blow up Harden and brook and esp try to package them for a blockbuster 80 mil contract swap.
OKC did with mvp candidate PG13 so an aging Harden and brook is way more likely when their champ was gone with paul.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!

I would phrase it that clearly it does help. I mean he shaved $30M off, that helps a lot.
Doesn't help nearly enough for Detroit to consider this that we all agree on. Problem with Blake to Houston is it requires Westbrook. The only way to make the money work that doesn't gut Houston. I actually posted that like 2 days ago and I think it got one response so interest was let's say tepid....

The Westbrook trade gutted them of picks, I can’t imagine any significant trade between Houston and Detroit working

I have Eric Gordon and Al Horford as similar contracts. It would take two 1sts. With the Rockets already short of picks, I don't think they are able to shed Gordon- better to trade him for a different bad contract that fits the team better.

Horford was so much better last year than Eric Gordon. Hell, he's always been so much better than Eric Gordon. I would have Gordon's contract considerably worse than Horford's.

I don't disagree that Horford is the better player. A swap benefits both teams though

So you're saying that Tilman Fertitta is broke? Last I saw he's got a net worth of about $4 billion. The Rockets alone would be valued at about $2.5 billion.

None of it is liquid from what I understand, so he’s cash poor especially with covid beating up his restaurants and casinos
I could be wrong, but everything I’ve read says that he doesn’t have money he can spend
