Charlotte 2020 Big Board - Pick #9

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Mon Oct 19, 2020 4:40 pm

With the draft just over a month away I thought it a good time to get our big board up and going for this year.

We'll keep each picks thread open for a few days before I or another mod tally the votes, lock the thread and open the next pick thread.

Pick #1 = Wiseman (37% out of 30 total votes)
Pick #2 = Okongwu (48% out of 27 total votes)
Pick #3 = Edwards (45% out of 20 total votes)
Pick #4 = Ball (37% out of 27 total votes)
Pick #5 = Hayes (46% out of 26 total votes)
Pick #6 = Haliburton (48% out of 25 total votes)
Pick #7 = Avdija (58% out of 17 total votes)
Pick #8 = Devin Vassell (42% out of 22 total votes)

So over wings with no offensive game.

We don't need any additional role players, we need players that can become dynamic difference makers. Cole Anthony has the best chance of becoming that player with his ability to attack the basket and draw fouls.

I don't like Wiseman but I'd take him over Obi 100 out of 100 times.

Obi is the one guy who if we got at 3 it would instantly make me not want to root for the team anymore. Felt similarly about Rui last year.

I kind of hope Toppin goes #1 and then Ichiro goes on an epic rant where he condemns the entire state of North Carolina.

I’ve never been as angry about basketball as I was the night we drafted Morrison.

Ever since then I don’t invest nearly as heavily in the draft and its process as I used to and I don’t get super high or low on any prospects going into draft night as I did back then.

I now take more of a “well, whatever happens, happens” type approach and just hope for the best.

That draft night ruined me. Forever.

Lmao. I hope noone rings your bell on Halloween dressed like Adam Morrison. If they do I at least hope it's in a Hornets uni and not a Bobcats 1 lol.

I actually didn't think Morrison was THAT bad. I thought injury and a bit better defense woulda made him better.

Well poop I somehow voted for PWill before I noticed Saddiq Bey added down there at the bottom - dumb bunny move since I'm the one who requested Saddiq

tho I am a fan of Marvin-playalike Charlotte high alum PWill I like Saddiq a lot in this draft

the Lakers win showed us that size matters both Saddiq and PWill are 6'8 why I like them over Vassell and Okoro who at 6'6 are short for their archetype

I'd pick Saddiq over PWill simply because of his 3 pt shooting ability but this article also opened my eyes to his ability as an additional playmaker on the wing was preseason but shows (the former high school PG) has playmaking in his bag of tricks

Couldn't agree more Saddiq will be a beast. I also a fan of his. I like Patrick because he is such a SAFE PICK. Can't go wrong with him. If there were one player in this draft that I could guarantee would be decent it would be him. there are however other players with more upside but a slightly or signifficantly more risk involved

I was feeling a bit bad about my lone vote for Saddiq. Will keep doing that until he's gone. Agree 100% about his potential.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Voted Okoro. Going with Patrick Williams next and after hes off the board I'll probably go with Toppin if hes still there.

I didn't pick a guy last time because I'm at the point where I don't care.

Therefore, I'll be picking the guy with the coolest name from here on out.

My-Precious Achiuwa, come on down!

I picked Okoro. Going with Toppin next. We're now getting to the range of mediocre prospects where I think picking LaMelo Ball might actually have been worth it.
investigate Adam Silver
