Devon Dotson seems good as well. Good defensive stats and gets to the line a lot. What's keeping him from being a first rounder? Size and his shot?

Nothing should be keeping him from being a first rounder. My one concern is size/frame. Shot looks adjustable to me though. If he can bulk up, which is a real question, he can be a starter and possibly better, imo.

Yeah his shot looks fantastic. He seems to pull it slightly more quickly when required. If he has to speed up his release a fraction of a second it should be no problem.

If he's really up to 6'3" in shoes we'd be lucky to have him available at #21 overall.

Oh, I was talking about Devon Dotson. I think this is required viewing if you're on the fence over Dotson:

If you can envision Azubuike as Embiid, you can get a real idea of what he brings to the table: dribble drive offense. Draws the defense in towards him and dumps it off. Additionally, his game might appear to be a "distributor" role, but he's definitely a great scorer. 18 ppg within that offense is pretty impressive. Devon Dotson should definitely be a first rounder and we should honestly take a long hard look at him.

He's up to #39 overall on Tankathon. A lot of intriguing PGs in this draft. Not opposed to walking away with 2 of them.

If we draft Dotson, Elleby, and Tillie, I'd consider this draft to be overwhelmingly successful. Those are three smart players that will almost assuredly carve out roles in the NBA if they stay healthy.

Can anyone explain to me why Anthony Edwards should be the first overall pick? His numbers are way not to good enough to be the first overall pick. He looks like an average prospect being given a ridiculously high usage. Same can be said on Lamelo Ball.

he looks the part. Has a good first step. Can shoot theoretically. Can get his own shot...theoretically. Should be able to defend...theoretically. So on paper he is a rather good prospect...however all of its based on if he wants to atm IMO. The Wiggins comparisons are apt...except Edwards atleast seems like he likes to play basketball, its just that he got by on being brolic for his age and it all came so easy it seems...he also pulled a Ben and sleepwalked through the college season. So its really hard to tell IMO.

There are far riskier prospects than him but he's not really exciting and could just be Dion Waiters without the weed habit...which is fine...i guess...but not 1st overall fine yknow?

I go back and forth on whether this draft is weak or not or just that many of the prospects are so boom or bust. Edwards ironically may be one of the few that i could see just being fine...many others its either he's really good or "holy **** you gon get fired" tier....like LaMelo and Wiseman. Ball I can see being really dang good but that shot is just wonky and he might still be a ****....giving him free reign seems like a recipe for disaster. Wiseman, you simply don't have any real tape on. yeah yeah yeah da bigman am dead but thats not it. He seems athletic enough to move in space, has a good looking jumper, and Bam and AD kinda revived the bigman a bit but both guys are so pretty instinctual...and you just don't know that about Wiseman.

Like I said before, I am super glad we aren't in position to have to make a choice higher up. This is one year where being in the middle of the pack pick wise has its advantage.

Right now, I have Wiseman as first overall then Killian Hayes as second overall. And the reason I have wiseman at first overall is I find him as the safest choice for the top pick. At worst he can be like a bigger clint capela being a pogo stick roll man, some spacing and rim protection.

Dunno edwards seems like fool’s gold for me. Like your imagination wants him to be good but he’s really not.

I don't get this LaMelo ball thing at all. He can't shoot, he can't defend and he can't beat his man off the dribble. How the hell is that a successful point guard in the NBA?

But swag doe

no seriously, He makes flashy passes on the norm and has size. Teams HOPE that the latter allows him to get by on defense and that the wonky shot comes along.

I can see a world in which that happens... I would not bet my career on it tho.

His upside is a taller Booker , you just have to gamble to see if he gets there.

Sixers draft strategy for the last 2 seasons.
Prefer a shooter with good height to wingspan ratio.

Exactly.

And here’s the thing. If you are betting on his upside.. do you trust his work ethic? I don’t.

A fool would say he made a big mistake by betting overseas where he could have just stay in the US for real training. But I think Lavar is smart to hide him overseas.

I'd want them to trade 21 and all the 2nds for RJ Hampton
