No he won't. He's obviously very interested in Brad having a say. Brad doesn't want to deal with difficult personalities. This is the same team you'll see next year aside from some minor changes.

Pretty much. I believe that the core of "Team Shamrock" will be back.
Hayward, probably will be traded. = Bringing in a Starting Center, and some Bench Depth.

Can anyone fill out this list?

I think that some teams will give more than the minimum for Howard, Rondo or Melo.

If we talk about the MLE, why not.

Also, Serge Ibaka would be a great target, but he will probably stay in Toronto

Good points. Just a hypothetical, but what if we just kept the team the same but added Rondo, Melo and Howard? Let's say by playoffs everyone is healthy, I wonder how we do. By this years playoffs, I bet it would be enough to beat the Heat. But we have to remember the Bucks are still out there and we dodged a real bullet there this year.

Christian wood just asked on his IG live where he should go next year? If he's gone from Detriot then is there anyway we can acquire or sign him?

well he is a RFA so Detroit can match anyway. But Boston would have to trade for him to try to match whatever salaries as he will probably get a double digit offer from someone.

Boston is at the top of Cap space, so can't offer anything without a trade IMO.

Oh, ok, good to know. I guess we can lock the thread now.

Trades and drafts are the only way the Cs can win a championship. Free Agency is enemy turf where the team is at a disadvantage. When they tried improving via FA, the results have been disastrous.

your idea of disastrous, and my idea are very far apart.

We got Al Horford as our starting big man on a team that made the playoffs three years in a row. Conference finals at least 1 time.

We had interview with KD before warriors, one of 4 teams.

We signed top free agent that year in Hayward, which is a huge deal, he's not even injury prone, just the most unlucky man in basketball in decades.

We signed Kemba Walker who helped lead us to conference finals in first year being injured most the time. Still ended up starting in the all star game. Let that sink in, we got an all star starting PG for nothing. Not even salary cap space because we wouldn't have it anyway.

If we signed anyone else last year (KWL does not count), we would not be in any better shape, worse probably. IF we signed nobody, we would have all of 10m to spend on mle instead of 6.

The results haven't been disastrous. WE got a starting all star pg and one of the more versatile former all star SF in the game for nothing in free agency. Everyone deals with injuries, we made it 6 games in conference finals despite them.

I think the deal would look more like Hayward/ 14 for Drummond/ 5

which isn't allowed under the CBA because both have not picked up player option for this year and won't until after the draft. In bizzaro world where you can get Hayward to opt in early so he can be traded to the worst place to play in the NBA ..... and Drummond agrees to opt in early too, sure.

OR teams agree to draft for each other in advance of opt in/out dates. There is always a work around.

IMO, I dont want Drummond and for Hayward I would want Drummond and their pick.
