To be honest, he's a nice guy it seems and all, and he works hard, but I don't think he really has much impact on any playoff team unless he does two things:

1) Embraces a sixth man role.
2) Plays defense and/or extends his range.

That said, if he extends his range, he can be a starter for sure; I just don't believe in him doing it considering he's had this problem his entire career.

Leaving as in: giving up the 27M in players option and become a free agent or forcing a trade?

He'd be dumb not to take his PO. The Spurs will try to trade him this upcoming season though, nothing malicious - they just don't need each other.

He’s probably underrated at this point. He can be a #3 guy on a good team.

What good team does Derozan even fit on?

Not many

Indi makes sense honestly

Warren, Lamb, 1st, 2nds?

Brogdon, Dipo, DD, Sabonis, Turner

That team can use an athletic wing defender though

He needs to be in the Will Barton role

Context is key for his "stats".

He has looked much better than he did when he played for us. He doesn't just ISO at random times anymore. He hunts down his spots if not he can be a playmaker for the rest of the team.

No one is questioning his regular season bucket getting ability. No one has argued against that in years.

The question people ask with Derozan is: what kind of impact can he make to a team trying to win a championship.
- His scoring is easily negated in the playoffs by putting larger defenders on him. Hence why his playoff TS% is only 50.
- Very poor defender. Might as well be 6'2 on defense. The Trae Young of wing sized players.
- One of the worst 3-point shooters in the league. There are so many bigs who shoot better than him now from 3. He's a dinosaur that has been weirdly stubborn about expanding his game. Everyone needs to be able to shoot right in today's NBA.

So maybe he can bring great complimentary scoring by playing on a team where he wont be the focus of any opponents defensive game plan. That's why people think a bench role might be ideal for him. If he doesn't want to play on a playoff team, then sure, he can give you an efficient 20ppg for some years to come.

Imagine having the most efficient year of your career and still wanting to leave. Where’s he gonna go? No good team is giving him big money. You can’t be a second or third option if you can’t shoot or play defense. Spurs ain’t hot anymore but at least he’s got some youngins on the rise and a good culture to build off of. If he’s willing to take a pay and minutes cut to play with a contender, that fair. If he wants to spend the rest of his good playing days on a lottery team, that’s lame.

Ive been to San Antonio and it was a pretty wack city but I think I could deal with it with all the Tex Mex restaurants they have to offer

That and DC are prob the 2 wackest major cities ive ever been to. Not as bad as DC tho

A lot of guys should leave the Spurs right now. Not hating on Spurs, they just pretty much have to build a new roster almost from the ground up.

DD for youth (in any form)
LMA, Mills and Gay too if possible

Would be a good player for the Lakers. All of the pressure would on the super stars so he could play relaxed.

Like others have said, he’s a good player, hard worker and great guy. However his skill set just doesn’t fit many places to allow him to have a high impact on winning.

But I'm not so sure he would want to go play with LeBron
