They're a bunch of players that are overperforming beyond their expectations.

Looks like they are flaming out right before our eyes. On the brink of A huge collapse

Didn't think our collapse in 2004 would be topped, but this one would do it.

So much for Tampa having the blueprint for success. How many great teams choke away a 3-0 lead in a playoff series? The money ball strategy has produced zero winners in any of the 4 major sports.

And to top that off, Houston had a losing record going into the postseason...smh

Not gonna lie it would be pretty funny to see the Astros win it all.

I wasnt rooting for it though and thank god its not happening. Turns out a former Astro had to beat them. Dodgers look like the best team, Rays look like a team of destiny.

Glad the Cheaterstros didn't make it. Hope the Dodgers don't either. I Don't care who wins the WS after that, I would be happy with just that.

Regardless, the point of the tweet was that the Yankees get sh*t for not playing small ball or contact ball, when other teams are homerun or bust as well. Just the way the game is being played now.

As I've said before..stats are fine but in moderation. Not as an absolute or in overdose/overdrive. One article recently said that the Yankees new analytics driven pitching coach was over his head and players did not repeat him or connect with what he was saying. And that in part was what contributed to the pitching issues this team had including the poor years and even potential injuries suffered by several Yankee pitchers.

This isn't the exact article but this talks about Blake specifically and how he was over his head and that wasn't respected.

Dude looks wider than a truck.

I'd be concerned with him playing CF. Stanton is barely 30 and he's a full-time DH now, this kid is only 17 and is built like a brickhouse.

Difference is Stanton is 6'6 and lumbering while JD is 5'11 with elite speed. He is a completely different creature.

anyone know if the Yankees have any international pool money to spend this season?

EDIT: Nvm. Looks like the Yankees will have a limited amount to spend, smaller than just about every team except the Braves at $4.23 million.
