Thought people might want to see this one!

What would your grade be of Howard in these playoffs?

“The other day I saw one of his games. He was running with the ball at a hundred per cent full speed, I don’t know how many touches he took, maybe five or six, but the ball was glued to his foot. It’s practically impossible.”

It’s hard to judge Howard without taking into account his history, expectations etc.

B+

If he arrived unknown to the league this year from the Transylvanian league and produced the way he did this year, we’d probably predict a $7.5M - $10M per year 1+1 contract being good value.

Being that he was a perennial DPOY candidate and defensive first team, there are so many little intangible things he does so very well, by rote. It’s hard to just look at his stats and judge by that.

I hope he can find comfort in retiring in a comfortable locker room, with a chance to win and contribute. As pointed out, he has already made $250M so chances are he might give us a discount.

Dwight did well and in my book he has redeemed himself from his first stint with the team. I would give him an A- for his season and playoffs with the Lakers. The guy filled his role perfectly for 20mpg in about 70 regular season games, which helped us secure the top seed as well as put less stress on Anthony Davis.

We need someone to do the same thing for next season - i.e. a classic pick-and-roll big who can protect the paint, catch lobs and be vertical threat without needing any touches. Wouldn't mind if Dwight filled that role.

I like Dwight but don't mind if we lose him. He was defensively good but he has a bad habit of fouling too much unnecessarily under the basket and especially w moving screens he always does. I don't understand why he doesn't clean up his movements w setting screens. A few too many times those fouls costed us a lead in a crucial game.

Someone who is also as intense but more zoned in on fundamental soundness and refinement can be better suited for us this second time around than a guy we got away w despite all his silly antics.
