Re: Everyone forgets that Bosh and Ray Allen scored 0 Points in Game 7
Bosh was a really good player. Underrated because he got the rep of being the best player on a mediocre team that put up numbers, but couldn’t be part of a winning team. He clearly proved that wrong, and is one of the best 3rd options in history. Excellent floor spacer, him and LeBron actually kind of led the charge of small ball and position-less basketball that we’re seeing today, because they had so much success shifting up to the 4/5. Bosh was also a really good defender, although bigger guys gave him a lot of trouble, sometimes to an embarrassing extent (like, Roy Hibbert dominating you? Seriously?). But he was really good at defending the PnR because of his mobility.
He was their second best player in their two championship runs and the last 3 years of their time together imo (when he actually played, because he missed like 6 games in 2012, which people conveniently forget when they talk about how the Heat struggled against Indiana and Boston).

Just remember that the next time someone tries to tell you the 2013 Heat was a superteam or that Ray Allen "bailed out" LeBron. Only 5 Heats players scored in that game. How can Chris Bosh be a superstar if he went scoreless in the biggest game of his life? He should be thankful LeBron hit one of the clutchest shots in history or else his HOF bid woulda gone up in smokes. The Heat had only 3 players show up that night (LeBron, Wade, and Battier) and somehow beat an all-time great squad.
a) claiming Ray Allen, who was on his last legs, was part of the reason why people say they were a "super team" is embarrassing, even for the biggest Lebron apologist.
b) Ray Allen sent Game 6 to overtime on a fluke play. Despite Lebron being unquestionably the best player in the world, it was Allen that saved the series and had he not hit that shot they lose and Lebron's legacy is in shambles.
3) The Heat were loaded because they had Lebron, Wade, and Bosh but also a great collection of role players. It was amazing roster construction. Pointing to the fact that a role player (Allen) didn't score in Game 7 is weak.
4) just because someone doesn't score points does not mean they aren't having an impact on the game. In Bosh and Allen, those two helped space the floor allowing Lebron and Wade to drive and score/get to the line. The Spurs who were old as hell at this point couldn't defend Lebron and Wade AND defend the shooters. I noticed you conveniently didn't include Wade who put up 23-10. Hmmm...wonder why
So what. As a Lakers fan, I'll be the first to point out that you take three or four shots from role players away, including a 35-foot buzzer-beater from Samaki Walker (which nobody remembers) that shouldn't have even counted, and Kobe's career suddenly looks a whole lot different. Dominant as the three-peat team was, you're looking at one title barring a couple of buzzer-beaters in one game and a miracle fourth-quarter comeback in another we probably lose 9.5 times out of 10 times otherwise. Then you need MWP to hit the biggest shot in a Game 7 in which you go 6 for 24. Those are awesome moments, some of my favorite as a Laker. Kobe more than did his part over the years, and other guys chipped in: That's how championship teams work.
But it's pretty fascinating how many people continuously want to hold that against James without acknowledging the enormous breaks other players got during their runs.

They were definitely a superteam and these fun facts don't change that

Just a side note, but I loved Shane Battier on that team. He was the true definition of a pro's pro. Always provided great defense and elite 3pt shooting. He doesn't get mentioned enough in terms of his impact on that team because his numbers don't reflect the impact. But those who watched know just how big his impact was.

I was just about to comment on Battier! Guy was great, knew his role and was very well spoken iirc.

They also conveniently forget that LeBron hit the three right before Ray Allen's, giving them a chance to remain within 3. And that LeBron went nuts in game 6, he had a 32 point triple double and came up with some incredible plays on both ends in the 4th quarter.

Maybe "someone" should have passed the ball so they had more than 9 shots.

Bosh scoring 0 points is kind of crazy. He was coming off an injury I guess. Still really bad.

If we had to redo his career 10 times, the worst possible situation is probably winning 4 rings before the age of 36.
Haha you call the Durant to gstate cheap while the rest of the world calls him going to Miami cheap.
Agree with the first 7 years in Cleveland being unlucky because those Cavs teams sucked lol.

Why would lebron try and create less efficient offense? Battier got the ball plenty that game as did the other guys playing well.

Lebron scored 14 points in the fourth quarter that game. He also hit the shot to put them ahead in OT.
Ray Allen got the goat shot but a lot of stuff happened around that.

Think that Ray Allen 3 has gotten so overrated it's ridiculous. It was a one possession ball game and a guy made a shot to even the score. From the point Kawhi missed that FT the game was still on.

People only remember that Ray Allen shot but this was the best I have ever seen Lebron. With both Wade and Bosh on bench, he lead the comeback late 3rd to mid 4th from 10+ down to a lead. Frankly those 10 min stretch is one of the best performances I have ever seen from anyway in any sport.

Never heard anyone say first three peat was a super team ever.
Great comparison rodman and bosh, lets just look at their scoring and ignore that one is the greatest rebounder from 80s on and one of the best defenders in that same era.

chris bosh one of the best perimiter defending bigs and fundamentally changed what teams ask a center to do on defense and offense. Teams need good players to win a title. They anointed themselves as a superteam when they damn near had a conference and said they would win 8 rings, I see no reason why not to judge them as one. No, they arent as good as the 2017 warriors, and no, they would probably lose h2h against the best bulls teams and the 86 celtics would give them a run for their money.
Lebron James is awesome and one of the best players to ever touch a ball, anyone who needs convincing still, isnt worth convincing.

Ray Allen averaged over 10 ppg off the bench while shooting 54/54/92
He shouldn't be remembered for going 0-5 in one game. That's normal for a shooter off the bench.
Shame on you, OP.

Fun fact, none of Jordan’s teammates ever scored a point in a game seven in the finals.

I basically agree with everything you’re saying... but not sure why you’re saying it? Also no idea what tone it is in?

Ray Allen and Chris Bosh could've taken early trips to Hawaii before game 7 and the heat still don't win the title without Bosh's offensive board and Allen hitting that absurdly difficult 3.
