I won't be mad if we pick him, I just hope he learns to shoot quickly because he will be unplayable to close games unless we play Miles at the 4 and Washington at the 5 and they both make major shooting leaps.

Still hoping we can pull off a Rozier/Miles + future pick trade for 1 or 2 and a bad contract and draft two in the top 3 to hedge it

I like that he breathes basketball and will work really hard

I agree I don't ever see him being an all-star though. A nice 3rd/4th option and glue guy but not a franchise player.

Nice player. Solid in the three phases. It'll take him some time to adapt to the physicality of the NBA. Charlotte could do worse at #3, but I agree he's not a move-the-needle guy or a franchise type. Just not a rock star like Doncic.

I’ve been trying to do a ton of research on him to grasp how to evaluate him vs other European NBA players journey/awards/competition.

Biggest thing I have noticed is the guy just wins.

He won back to back under 20 Euro Fiba cups for Israel. This is over all the big basketball countries in Europe (France, Spain, Serbia, etc). Including winning MVP the second time.

He won MVP at basketball without borders in Europe. Then the following year won it here in Charlotte at Global Basketball without borders (over Hayes) which is a huge honor (RJ Barrett won a few years ago).

He has a long proven track record for Macabi Tele Viv which is the best team in Israeli league. Former NBA talent you will recognize from there is David Blatt (coached there before Cavs hired him), Omer Casspi and Dragan Bender.

Before you hit the panic button Neither Bender or Casspi dominated the league at the level Avdija did. Avdija was youngest player to ever debut on the senior team, debuted in Euroleague at 17 (Doncic did at 16).

This season he became the youngest player to ever win MVP in the Israeli league on the way to leading his team to the championship.

That's what I like about Deni in a nutshell. The single thing that worries me the most? The description of him as a guy who is good at a lot of things, but not great at any of them.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

He's the best passer I have seen coming into the NBA since Magic Johnson. Not that I think he is going to be anywhere near as good!

You think Deni is the best passer since Magic? Seriously?

I don't really like Ball as a prospect, but he's a far superior passer.

So hes the fastest 6'9" player in history and also the best passer since Magic. Sounds like we got ourselves a future MVP.
