Broadcast Team

Post#1 » by Zers4Eva » Fri Oct 23, 2020 3:28 am

Who does everyone think the Blazers will name as their new broadcast team?

I thought Jordan Kent and Lamar Hurd did a good job. I'd love to see Mike Barrett back but that's not likely.

Kent and Hurd are fine. I still liked Mike & Mike, but I really miss Wheeler.

Kent and Hurd are... Fine... not great... but fine. Unfortunately we've had GREAT for like 30 years, so I'm not sure I'm interested in settling for "fine".

Not that I have much say lol.

Why'd that Chris McGowan fire them anyway? Did he take a poll of the fans??

McGowan wanted Calabro which started off Rocky, had a strong middle, and ended quickly... So now McGowan is eating some crow after firing Mike & Mike and his prized replacement bailing so quickly (No knock on Calabro, I respect him making a family choice).

Honestly I get the feeling that McGowan's ego could give two **** what Blazer fans want. He's got a strong captive audience and frankly all of the duck honks will love keeping Kent if he wants to go cheap.

I actually liked the Jordan Kent addition. He and Lamar had more natural chemistry than with Kevin.

Mike & Mike will always have a sentimental place in my heart. But we're being completely objective, Rice really was not as great as everyone remembers.

Never liked Calabro. He wasn't bad. Just not my style.

Honestly, I don't care if the local broadcasters are homers. They're the local broadcasters.

Totally agree. The Hurd/Calabro pairing might be why I never liked Calabro.

Oh I agree, Rice wasn't great... but he was fun. Mostly it was the choice to replace Mike B with Calabro which made ZERO sense, and frankly I think they could have talked Rice into retirement and kept Mike B (which he's said, he was never given that option.)
