I would still think the NBA just says F it and continues to play in the Orlando Bubble for next Season.

Dude.... you're an idiot about basketball and an enormous idiot about the world. You continually try to take over threads with your idiotic political rants.
It's always amazing how you keyboard retards are always so offended by "personal attacks" after dealing out personal attacks.
However, the idiot moderators like Duffman, who is hated by nearly everyone on RealGM let's this **** go. (I have 6 other accounts, ban this if you want Duffman).
This board has become a toilet bowl of stupid, and I blame the moderators. How the **** is Duffman allowed to control anything?
Guys... ... ...

Do people hate me?
Oh and... banned.

Yeah, but from understanding of the link you would need to have a 2nd negative test after a week to forego the the 14 quarantine, meaning it still amounts to a 7 day quarantine. unless I'm reading that wrong...
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

My understanding is that once the initial test comes back negative, the individual can leave quarantine, but must engage in low risk activities and get the second test. At least from the description of the pilot program starting at Calgary International Airport next month. S
"Travellers can volunteer to get a COVID-19 test when they come into the country and receive results as quickly as 48 hours. If the test comes back negative, they would be allowed to leave quarantine if they agree to get a second test at a participating community pharmacy six or seven days after arriving.
Canadian citizens returning to Alberta and foreigners who are travelling for essential purposes, including essential workers, are eligible for the screening program.
Participants will be required to stay in Alberta for 14 days after arrival. They will be closely monitored through daily symptom checks, must wear masks in public places and avoid visiting high-risk groups."

If the NBA is looking to temporarily relocate based on prospective future expansion, like they did with OKC, I'd take a look at Kansas City. They have pro football and baseball. They have the T-mobile Center. They have the Jayhawks (kinda but not really).
I've always thought KC was a viable expansion location. Moreso than Louisville, at least.

Well...Trudeau has basically put talks of any vaccine off until “not early next year” so at this point there’s no way that border gets opened and no way the raps play out the first part at home.
Doesn’t matter where they play to me, but I thought the nba was setting up four smaller bubbles next year.
But if there are no bubbles, If the raptors aren’t playing at home and the rest of the nba is at home, you can forget any free agency working this offseason. Nobody is going to want to basically play the entire season on the road. This ain’t good.

Couldn't they arrange a long-term stay at a hotel?

What’s the point of playing at ACC if there are no fans in attendance?

Media, arena staff? Money for the arena to pay their taxes?

Players under contract are under contract. Players who aren’t are going to have to find accommodations in whichever city they sign in regardless. We were likely only going to bring in new guys on one year deals because we want to keep capspace for next year. So if Raps play in a friendlier tax market for this season, it might actually help especially with the escrow increase. Tampa Bay is my choice.
Now if this continues into the season after, we got a real problem with any free agent aspirations.

We can pretend the T in T-mobile stands for Toronto.

Hawaii... who says no?
Las Vegas would also be a good experiment in having an NBA Team there and they can research if its viable.

hawaii is way too far a travel for all teams
las vegas, being a west coast market is travel heavy for the raptors east schedule, but doable.
i still think they will end up sharing a city, ny/bkn/nj make the most sense as NBA has discussed doing mutli game road trips like they do in baseball.

Until Joe Biden.
All those teams have private planes; I am sure something can be arranged from the (private section of the) airport to hotel to the Arena following strict guidelines. With the current tone in the white house, it can certainly not happen right now. There needs to be some federal mandates to contain it. There will be a plan.
We cannot have the Raps playing home games in the US. It should be a no-go. If it means starting our first 15 games on the road until the Biden-Trudeau plan is in the place. So be it!
