Rex what do you think is Giles potential now? I was really intrigued in him when he was in high-school. But I just been really unimpressed with his lack of explosion and athlecism since rehabilitating his knees. He reminds me if a poor man Christian Leattner.

While I agree his great athleticism is probably forever gone, he's still a decent NBA athlete.

I think he's underrated as a young big SKILLED guy. I think he has good BB IQ, good size, is mobile, surprisingly good vision and passing, good form and base to be an outside shooter, he actually hit mid range shots this season at a good clip, high FT%, and still developing. He's much younger then Silva.

For a 22YO, That's all I can ask from a cheap free agent. It's the best gamble I can find on the market at our price range, and I also think he might be able to Bam's backup (because of his size + mobility) while also being able to play next to Bam if his jumper proves legit.
Its weird because he needs to get stronger. No point of being a big if your only getting 4 rbs a game. But he likely can't afford to gain upper muscle because of his knees.

He's not that weak or skinny, he actually garbed 10 boards per 36, which is almost as good as Bam and better then Kelly/Leonard. He's not an elite rebounder or shot blocker, but he might be well rounded enough to be decent.

This is so strange to me unless Clippers owner opened up the wallet and made him lead assistant. Otherwise, why leave a situation where he is Spo's right hand man.

Who is more likely to get fired, Spo or Tyronn Lue?

That bag was probably a lot bigger in LA.

Sucks to lose Craig, he seemed to be a quality assistant coach.

I have no doubt the organisation will have someone capable of filling the role though.

W/recent reports, & no surprise to most of us, Bam, Herro & Butler are untouchable.

I think Giannis stays another season...but if he wanted a trade wld u include package of both Duncan & Herro if Bucks requested?

I would be careful labeling anyone outside of Bam and Butler untouchable. And Oladipo value is not high, Riley wouldn't trade Josh Richardson for Oladipo. I seen people offer more or the same that netted Butler, thats ridiculous.

I think of the two, Duncan & Herro, Duncan wld be the one we trade. We can’t trade both & leave us w/ no snipers - there goes our spacing. In that sense Herro is untouchable.

Hypothetically wld you trade both to land Giannis...

If the Heat make a trade for a big name player they are not gonna worry about the team being unbalanced. They will find role players to balance the roster afterwards. They had to do that after Shaq, Lebron, Bosh, Hardaway and Zo. I think Butler and Bam are on Zo and Hardaway level as players who have Riley heart. But I could see a top 5 player tempt his heart. Riley really loved Caron and Odom and he pulled the trigger for old Shaq. And Riley kept reaching out to them to return.

And a lot of people don't know, Riley offered Wade for Kobe and got shot down then he inquired about Shaq.

Like the Lakers when getting Davis, Heat will have salary cap to balance the roster if they make a trade.

I agree with Windhorst about Miami interest in Oladipo is not as strong as Oladipo is for the Heat. They been known Oladipo interested in joining the Heat when he was an Orlando Magic player. And they never made a major push for him.

Oladipo is just not THAT good. I was always underwhelmed by his performances in Orlando. He did have his moments in Indy, but those were brief. Now he's coming back from a big injury and wants max money. Can't blame him. I want max money too.

Hes a good player. Emphasis on good. Not max. Not someone you trade anyone of substance for a year before he's a free agent.

The Max money desire doesn't concern me. Heat will not trade for him unless they have a verbal contractual agreement before completing the trade. Its why they did trade for Dragic and didn't trade for Gallinari and Stoudemire

Replace Craig with GP or Fizdale maybe? But I have a feeling we'd hire someone else out of nowhere. Eric Glass too but not sure who replaces him then?

Semi Ojeleye is becoming a free agent, Can he be a younger cheaper Crowder?

Sucks to lose Craig. He probably knew he had no shot in coaching the Heat behind Spo and thought he would get better exposure in LA.

I dont know if Fiz want to be an assistant again, otherwise get UD in. ITS TIME!

I think Boston has a Team Option on him for 2020-21. Given he was a SRP, that’s gotta be a cheap contract worth picking up, surely?

I liked Ojeleye quite a bit in his draft year. When I used to write in an NBA Blog, I had him as one of my sleeper picks in that draft along with Josh Hart, Jordan Bell and Caleb Swanigan (OK I missed on a couple).

Think he’d be worthwhile looking at as a 3&D option at the 4 spot. He hasn’t been amazing in the pros so far, but he apparently works extremely hard. I’d like to see whether we could get him to another level, if he came cheap.

The most appealing thing about Ojeleye is his biceps.

Moreso Solomon Hill without the vet savvy than he is Jae Crowder IMO

i know ill get hate but i really want to keep Solo on the cheap, think he can be useful 3&D wing when in shape.
