I was bidding on Hordford into the 70s. Would have solidified my bench.

The whole time I thought you landed Dinwiddie :o

There was a timing issue. I bid on Lowry first, and then was planning on throwing a 4 year 75 deal at Dinwiddie, but he closed before I was able to make the bid (due to the Lowry bid). :banghead: I bid on Rudy too early too. I should have waited until after, because I think my early bid on him took me out of the running too. My free agency was trash. Timing was way off on all of it.

The Lowry steal was ridiculous. I was over here smug like Winnie the Pooh with my gets and then that **** dropped. Good lord, I hope they continue to not rate him comensurate with his IRL impact.

For Lowry I screwed myself too by bidding on more than one player at the same time. I didn't have the same amount of cap though, so I'm pretty sure I would have lost out anyway. I'm pretty confident my lineup will work itself out ok though.

Got you, at least you walked away with some steals, when you are low on funds its always harder to compete because your money can so easily get tied up no doubt.

I expected Hoffa to play the court jester with 2010, but the biggest surprise to me was seeing him spend money for once on players like LMA  when the numbers passed a $100 I thought for sure it was Swiss or NewEra. It's going to be interesting to see what kind of return he gets on him.

Instead if going after Favors Hoffa could have kept Siakam, resigned Lowry and still gotten LMA plus another piece likely

I understand it at least from hoffa's perspective. He is cheap so he probably wasn't going to get into a bidding war with people next year with him. He could have always done a S&T potentially. But you have to ask yourself would a S&T net him Anthony Edwards type talent? He cashed in on Siakam early but he didn't want to lose him for nothing.

So I understand it if he wasn't going to spend to keep him.

Yeah - Hoffa was looking for a piece that would line up with Morant/JJJ as well.

It really depends what he's trying to do. If he's committed to a full youth movement then I get it but LMA and Rose and Vucevic and Bogdanovic aren't exactly spring chickens. Not sure I see a direction. Siakam is a better win now piece imo. He had a golden opportunity to build a legit contender

I think I mentioned before he was straddling the fence a bit with the move but I think he believes the Morant/FVV boost plus a couple of those other moves in FA will put him in the convo. I like you don't think that puts him into the top dog convo with Brooklyn and those other top teams in the east.

But he decided to cash in on Siakam now before getting into a bidding war next year and potentially losing him for nothing so I understand it but it probably did hurt his championship asperations this year for sure. I still think that team has enough talent to make the playoffs though.

I don't know, I'm competitive and don't care about spending fake money that isn't real so I would have went for it now and worry about Siakam later. He's 26 not 36. He's still sitting on over 200 in cap space and a dried up free agent pool. It's not like he needed to sacrifice players to open up flexibility, no he had a ton of cap space going into free agency and already quality depth on the roster. Idk maybe it pays off for him later but right now I think he could have done a lot better

I know that he was tempted to move Pascal for a younger player. We had discussed a mega deal for just that last season, but I couldn't pull the trigger. For me it wasn't worth it without cap room to re-sign Pascal. I still think Hoffa gets him back in the end via FA.

It's too early to tell what will happen next years free agency. You never know when an All Star is getting traded for cap space or when an All Star is getting waived for nothing even in this game  Things change quick here

I just needed to keep some talent and a little bit of depth until the 2 year reset. Horford fits in with his defense, even though he lost a step irl, he can also spread the floor a bit on offense, and the sim treats him well as a bench piece.

I'm always open to talk trade for anyone
