I did not sacrifice the final GT of the regular season for the Heat to draft a guy that could not carry in the finals.

We can sign a vet big man in the off season, so I think it would be best to draft a guard this time. Only problem, is that I don't think any of those guards in the pole besides Quickley will be there at 20. Right now, I'm liking solid guys that can contribute to a contender out the gate like Tre Jones or Malachi Flynn. Both of them are smart, experienced pgs that take care of the ball, pester opposing guards, can act as secondary playmakers to Jimmy, and can run the offense off the bench day 1. Jones brings better size and athleticism, while Flynn will be a better shooter.

I originally thought both of these guys would be possibly in the 2nd round, but they've been rising up some of the boards recently.
According to places like The Athletic and DraftExpress, there's been plenty of positive buzz about them around the league since workouts started. Also, the Heat have an interview with Jones coming up, so I know they're at least curious.

I think Maxey is a real possibility at 20. I don't think he's moving up but just solidifying his ranking around 20 with his recent workouts.

Quicklely, I think is still a early 2nd round or late 1st (25 and above) range player. Heat would likely have to make a move for. Unless there footage or a workout that they have seen showing the potential to be a more well rounded player.

Glad to see goodboy Smith has the lead in this early stage.

I think he's the only one that could actually earn a spot in starting 5 as soon as next year if we get lucky and he really pans out.

Smith might not have the foot speed nor the strengh to back up bam without loosing much

Looks like Heat like Nnaji better, because he would be stronger to play alongside bam in those specific LA matchups

I think Smith has decent foot speed but the strength is what I question. I worry about him defending stronger players. Smith struggled with Oturu strength.. Its what made Crowder functional at PF is his strength. If we get Smith he needs to go in the gym with Zo and the new muscle bound KZ

Yeah he gets pushed around a bit, I dont think the speed speed is there compared to a guy like reed, reed needs to get stronger too
