At which point, I'd walk away from the negotiation. If they somehow did a straight swap, though, I think it's a no-brainer that we make the deal.

Lonzo would be fun as hell on this team. I’d be into it

As always, the existence of Tobias makes me less excited to move Ben off of guard.

Feel like Dinwiddie is more of a Morey guy than Ball, but I’d def be interested in grabbing Ball to be the super role player his ceiling always suggested he’d be.

But why? I don't really see what Lonzo brings to this team that's more helpful than JRich, and it's not like he's got extra years on his deal. Aside from this year, Josh has been the better catch and shoot guy. Better/more versatile defender. Clearly has more bounce to his game. Lonzo's a good distributor, but we've got Ben to do that, and Lonzo doesn't fill the PnR/off the dribble shooter aspect that Ben is missing at the point.

No interest in Lonzo for Richardson.

Not sure what to expect going forward with Morey at the helm. We could be in for a suspenseful offseason, or we could make a series of smaller impactful cap savvy deals to compliment our core and establish some identity.

Lonzo is pretty much better across the board, and well suited to play that Caruso/Rondo role on a contending team. Richardson is a tweener who doesn't excel in any one category. He couldn't guard a soul in the playoffs and that's supposed to be his calling card. Too slow to match quicker guards like Kemba and too small to impact big wings like Tatum who were playing target practice on his head. Not really a good shooter, not a ballhandler, can't create for others or himself. Lonzo is a better defender, shooter and passer. Would be our second ball handler on the roster, who's enormous on the break. Getting rid of Richardson is one step towards this team developing an identity.

Lonzo give you a multi-position defender and volume 3s. His passing would play well in non-Embiid high pace lineups. It's fair to move Richardson and one of the premium 2nds for him.

Lonzo shoots sub 50§ from the line. He immediately becomes a liability in a playoff atmosphere because of that. So he’s a no go.

He's a worse/less versatile defender than Richardson though. And unless you are only focusing on this year, he doesn't take many more 3s. Not like he's some major threat from there either, he's just willing.

I don't want to go too crazy with this because I think Lonzo is a solid player, I just don't think he really fills our needs.

Josh Richardson is an actively terrible defender and Lonzo Ball is a fantastic defender. So there's that. Besides, the more high IQ passers you can put in your rotation, the better. Agreed that Lonzo doesn't offer anything in terms of off the dribble. And even though Josh sucks at that, too, he's better than Lonzo at it. But Josh isn't good enough at it (like say Alec Burks is) for that to be a trump card.

Lonzo is just a better player on both ends of the floor IMO.

Being a bad free throw shooter is not an auto-disqualifier from being effective in playoff basketball. Look at how effective Rajon Rondo has been as a postseason player throughout his career.

Similarly to Rondo, Ball is a big-bodied stud defender with a high IQ and tremendous passing abilities. Lonzo is going to be a fantastic playoff asset during his prime.

I think old man has faded quite a bit since the big baller brand debacle with his homie/ biz partner.

I don't remember Lavar being a headache for the Pelicans this year.

Besides, you have to account for Lamelo coming into the league. Lamelo is the most brash and charismatic of the Ball brothers and he's the one with star upside. If Lavar is going to be a distraction, it will be for the team Lamelo gets drafted to. I could see Lonzo being left in peace while Lavar diverts all his attention to Lamelo.

It's unlikely you will see a Simmons for Harden as SAS wanted or a Westbrook for Embiid trade as Jalen Rose wanted as both trades are pretty awful for the other team and none are close to the value they would want for that said player.

I am hearing that RoCo could be on the market but the primary target is Myles Turner. Not this garbage.

I'm hearing SAS likes the deal but Jalen Rose isn't for it.
