we can probly get KCP or Joe Harris around 9-10 mil/yr deals.
This isn't an easy swap out for Beasley for just anyone.
Joe Harris is a great shooter, but he's not anywhere near the gamer that Beasley has shown to be.
Case in point. As soon as Beasley was given 30+mpg and starting role, he became a 20 PPG/5 RPG capable player. But Joe Harris has averaged over 30mpg for the past two seasons and he's only averaging 14 PPG/4 RPG. Harris also is not as good at drawing FT shots or making FT shots. Beasley will get open more, take more shots, draw more fouls, rebound more = a more extreme player.
Yet Joe Harris got 145 starts the past two seasons. That's what was wrong in Denver and why Beasley didn't sign there. He deserves to start somewhere and this team should consider itself lucky to have him. If losing him and replacing with someone like Harris, fine. But others will have to pick up that slack that Beasley could have added.
One point of contention is that Joe Harris is in the top tier of people who “get open more”, his ability to move off of the ball is extraordinary. Not discounting Beasley, but that one skillset is something that Harris is absurd at, dude seems to always get open.
Ideally, I would prefer to have both Beasley and Harris.
Harris is a lot niftier with the handles too, actually.
Beasley can’t dribble or pass.
Harris can.
