I might've been to Foggy Rock on one of my trips up to Boone, don't remember. Wish my sister still went to school there, I miss having an excuse to drive to the mountains

Is that just a house salad?

My nephew is a freshman at app this year. I'll tell him to come by one day. One of these days I hope to be able to travel again and visit your restaurant.

Have we ever done a meetup and gone to a game? Would be nice to do something like that once all the covid stuff ends.

I met up with vorbis one year in Toronto and we caught a game at a bar together.

It was awesome fun and he was such a great, insightful guy to watch a game with.

Id highly recommend watching Charlotte games with other Charlotte fans any time you can.

Racism.That's it.

I'm rooting for Biden and I'm rooting for NC to flip the Senate. If Mango Mussolini gets re-elected, the Philippines and Indo-Pacific would be ****.

So what ? it's american affairs (if i can say), and it's not like there is a huge difference between democrats and republicans with geopolitics.
Obviously, except Russia for their own agenda, Brasil and other populist lead countries (well, like the Philipines?), the vast majority would rather see someone more predictable than Trump but it's not like any american care about what other countries wish. And you would feel the same if the role were reversed.

The most depressing part is seeing this old democracy turning into a fight between extremists on both sides while the vast majority of the people from both sides are reasonable and constructive.
I just hope everyone here will be safe no matter the outcome.

The other depressing part being that populism is spreading everywhere almost at light speed with the way social medias are ruled.

Democrats ran a **** candidate that most Americans didn't want and completely ignored the Hispanic vote, then told Black voters "vote for us because Trump is racist" and didn't talk at all about policy or what they can do for them

I'm very liberal but I kinda hope Trump wins so the DNC can be disbanded and reformed. Its bought by big money that was pushing establishment elites because its a good ole boys club.

Don't get me wrong, Trump is also a **** candidate but this is on the democrats for not learning anything from 2016. Totally ridiculous
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

If you'll indulge me for a moment...

It's impossible to express how much life has changed since draft night 2019. I was working my last week at a company that was going under, meanwhile my wife was 20 weeks* pregnant (actually 19 weeks and 6 days, that'll matter in a minute).

Obviously it was the heat of June, and my cousin was crashing on our living room couch after he lost power on a near-100° night. My wife went to sleep, so I ended up watching the draft in a spare bedroom.

Somewhere between Cody Martin and Jalen McDaniels, I heard a loud crash. I ran to the bedroom, my wife had passed out on the way to the bathroom (breaking her chin on the tiled floor) and was now convulsing. And again, halfway through her pregnancy.

She was very pale - which is saying something because she's *always* pale - burning up, and not really responsive. I splashed some cold water on her face and she came to, mostly wondering why her chin hurt.

She insisted she was OK, maybe a little hot. I got her back to bed in time to see her eyes roll back as it all happened again. I call my mother-in-law, a nurse at Duke hospital, she comes over and says just keep her cool and see how she does in the morning.

I also forgot my cousin was asleep downstairs, and now my MIL hates him because she thinks he freeloads here or something.

She did ok the rest of the night, but the next morning it happened a third time. This time she was more aware of what was happening, and was obviously concerned for the baby.

We rushed to the hospital, where an OB was set to meet with us. That didn't actually happen, by the time they got there they had pivoted to focusing primarily on her because we were a day shy of 20 weeks. Had it been a day later, they would've had specialists there to check on the baby; but instead that had to wait.

I cannot express how little momma cared about her own health in those moments.

Eventually the doctors clear her; basically a combination of dehydration, overheating, losing nutrients to the baby, and potentially food poisoning led to her having seizure-like reactions. They gave her fluids and she was OK.

FINALLY they check on the baby, and - as if for dramatic effect - it took a moment to find her heartbeat. But all was well. My MIL arrives again and they send me off because - oh, right - it's my last day at work!

Fast forward to draft night 2020: our daughter just turned 1 two weeks ago! She's happy, healthy, and a handful. Mom is doing well, too. She enjoys her job, so I ended up pivoting to a stay-at-home dad role (which was originally gonna be more temporary but, y'know: COVID).

And hey, PJ was a really good pick!

TL;DR: Last year on draft night was maybe the most stressful night of my life, as I feared for the health of my 20-weeks-pregnant wife and unborn daughter. Now my daughter is a year old; a lot has changed inbetween drafts!Image

Just met a hornets fan up here in Pennsylvania. There are only a few of us. He had a hat on so I had to introduce myself at the gas station and talk the draft with him. I dont meet many up my way but when I see somebody wearing anything hornets I try and make a new friend.

I've met a couple up here in CT, though wearing 90's Hornets gear is considered "trendy" so its sometimes hard to differentiate between a fashion statement or legitimate interest. Most of the legit fans I've run into have been while working (I work at a sports bar) and they tend to get pretty excited when they see that I'm a fan as well (we are allowed to wear sports logos).

I saw exactly one other Hornets fan in passing in my couple years in North Dakota. It was one more than I was expecting to see.
