the NBA has been very flexible with the players needs and wants...they can risk losing this revenue by not starting the season at christmas...too much for the league is at stake and too many teams probably want to play on christmas...the only few teams that really get effected are Lakers/Heat really...everyone else has had ample time to rest.

As long as they can come to a cap figure for this year and next they can pull it off. Then draft/trade/FA all get done in Nov. Then have training camp start Dec 1.

I think at this point fans in the stands is probably not happening for Dec or Jan...so it wont matter so now the most important thing to help save the lost money is to play as many games as possible before the Olympics and not to disrupt the TV deal.

That would be nice - since, for many teams, the last couple of games are almost meaningless anyway - especially in March/April.

They can also just revert back to a 5 game first-round series. (Lol nope). The playoffs imo is still long and drawn out.
