Role too. Also cares about picking his next location.

First sentence from this tweet stuck with me.
Read on Twitter

Kind of a hint that Hayward could be on the outs.

Hi guys, hope all is well.

Would you guys do a trade for the following:

2020 #2 + 2022 FRP (Protected) + Wiggins + Jordan Poole

for

2020 #14 + Marcus Smart + Gordon Hayward (Depending on PO picked up)

?

I didn't think so, either. But, maybe 2020 #2 + 2022 FRP (Protected) + Poole for 2020 #14 + Smart?

We wouldn't Trade Smart, unless it brings in someone like Giannis' caliber.

i love me some Smart. Favorite player on the team.

But I disagree with the board on his tradability. Danny would trade his grandma for the right price.

That said, I don't know anything about this draft, so no way of gauging if #2 is the "right price".

I still think Wiggins is good, but no his contract is horrid. he might mess up chemistry as well. But I would still consider the trade if it were GH + 14 for Wiggins + #2

Celtics aren't looking to add money lol. Warriors are using #2 to get off the awful Wiggins contract to set themselves up for 2021 FA.

Throw in the 2020 #26 or 20202 #30 and we got ourselves a deal. Hayward is injury-prone the last couple seasons and not a lock to stay with us after this upcoming season; It's not guaranteed he'll even play half the games next season -- even when the 2020-2021 season will be shorten by about 10 games, I'm reading?

I like Wiseman enough to consider it.. but still curious to see what it would take to get Gobert or Myles Turner.

Read on Twitter

$20,627,460 would be Hayward's new salary with 40% escrow.

If for example, he should get $100M in the next 4 years...

Scenario 1 (opts in w/ escrow this season): 20,627,460 + 65,620,900 (next 3 seasons) = $86,248,360 total for 4 years
Scenario 2 (opts out for a 4-year deal declining w/ Cs): 17,045,454 + 71,590,908 (next 3 seasons) = $88,636,362 for 4 years
Scenario 3 (opts out for a 4-year deal w/ raises w/ Cs): 12,954,545.40 + 76,409,093 (next 3 seasons) = $89,363,636.40 for 4 years

For equal distribution ($25M per year), he'll get $90M total for 4 years.

So if he wants the long-term security, he'd even earn a couple more millions.

Not that anyone would give it to him, but Hayward is now apparently eligible for 35% of the cap since he's already completed 10 years of NBA service. So theoretically he can opt out and sign for $38,150,000 in his first year. Maybe he does a 1+1 in Atlanta? Play balls out as the #2 option and get his numbers up. Get back into FA market next offseason with hopefully a higher cap and more competitive teams with available cap space.

Anyway, I'm sure Mark Bartelstein is going over every possible scenario with him.

What a revelation, it's all about the $ in the end. It wouldn't surprise me if Hayward left. I don't know how anyone could watch Hayward over the last 3 years and think "this dude really cares about the Celtics and desperately wants to be here! Celtic for life!!"

The guy knows he's damaged goods and wants to cash in while he still can, not play footsie with the Celtics. Horford 2.0.

Pretty much this. With the upcoming FA classes Hayward has 0 hope to receive big contract. Celtics have no ability to offer him anything accaptable because of Tatum's max extension. This is basically his best opportunity to try and secure another good contract with whichever team.

Ooops. Didn't see this thread. I think if any team expresses any interest in Hayward Danny should ship him out immediately. Throgh a combination of factors he has been a waste of time and money in Boston. He was approaching something decent at one point. That time I feel is now past. He's damaged. He would be a fool to opt out. Boston would be stupid to invest anything more in him. If Danny could find any way to move him he should do it. I doubt any team would be that stupid though.

You guys are tripping, Hayward was arguably our 2nd best player in the regular season this year, and we are about to lose him for nothing, killing decent trades in the process.

Not good!
