Other random Mandalorian things that bother me (through S1 E7):

Spoiler:
1.In episode 2 or 3 the main dude goes against the code in saving baby yoda but all the Mandalorians come out of hiding to save his ass???
2. Dude upgrades to his gear with wrist rockets - “only use this if surrounded” - 5 minutes later gets surrounded.
3. Baby yoda saves Chubbs’ arm - literally 5 seconds later we fast forward to the next day and he’s blasting his friends in the face - “I only did this because baby yoda saved me.”
4. How could they not hit any of those dragons from like 10 feet away?
5. Gina Carano is basically Eliza Coupe from Future Man.

Overall it's an addicting show and the storyline with the main character is very good. Note, I'm 3.5 seasons in. However, to anyone who's watched it before is his sister's character not one of the worst written and worst acted characters of a major drama there has ever been? It is so bad I almost want to quit the show just because of her. It makes Walter White's wife look like an Oscar winner. I'm honestly shocked a show on that level could let that happen and still haven't corrected it by 40 episodes in.

You’re 3.5 seasons in? You have about .5 seasons of great content left lol. Seasons 5 and 7 are OK I guess, 6 and 8 are rough

Strong disagree on Skyler White tho, think Anna Gunn did a great job, and Skyler White as a character was reasonable enough given her husband was turning into a meth dealing narcissist lol.

Yes pretty much the Trinity killer storyline seems to be the jump the shark moment for me. Just starts making stupid nonsensical mistake after mistake, the opposite of what his character was portrayed as the whole time. Along with tons of holes in the story. It's continued so far in season 5.

I do give his sister some break as far as acting goes in that I chalk most of it up to absolutely horrible writing, especially her dialogue, so it's tough for me to put it all on her. Though at least some of it is. I think this character takes the cake as worst in any major drama I've watched, and I've watched a lot. I actually don't think it's close either. But maybe it improves in the next few seasons and she tones just constantly flying off the handle and blowing up on everyone over and over and cursing stupidly.

For Anna Gunn. I'm surprised anyone is defending that, I basically thought it was widely accepted that character was the achilles heal of the show. Again it is somewhat on the writing, but to me if you're nitpicking BB it's tough for me to put it as best ever due to her and WW's son's storylines and acting. Also, I'm not talking about just hating a character as I know some characters are designed and supposed to be hated, and Anna Gunns somewhat was supposed to be.

In what way? Just prequel hate?

Partially, but in general I hate fanboy service.

Spoiler:
I didn’t mind seeing the Fett armor once I knew it wasn’t him. Seemed to be kind of a cool tribute, was a subtle nod to the fans and you didn’t have to justify suspension of disbelief too much. Having him live on is just annoying and doesn’t add anything. One thing I loved about season one was the nice balance of including things in the universe we know and love but starting a new story with fresh characters. Watching the prequels and sequels really made it obvious to me that I was ready for something different.

Lastly, Boba Fett has a cool costume. Him as a character however is one of the most overrated in any medium of entertainment.

Spoiler:
I agree on Boba Fett. I somehow both think it's cool he's back, while also wondering how the hell he ever got this cult like status in the first place. He was a nothing throw off character in the original trilogy. That he's become this huge character in the lore of the universe is baffling.

But whatever. They got an Apple TV+ series based off his character so I guess they might as well bring him back.

That said, Timmy O rules.

I haven't watched in a long, long time, but IIRC I thought S7 was the best of the post-S3 material. Naturally I'll save spoilers knowing that DJ is working through it still, but yeah I'm seeming to recall that I thought S7 was not perfect, but fun and solid.

On a whole, though, the show is ludicrous outside of S3. And virtually everyone hates Deb as a character and actor, so you aren't alone.

It was a great show but it got wild and went on way too long. Much like Weeds. Showtime had some great stuff going in the mid-2000s but it all got just completely outrageous.

Truth Seekers on Prime was a decent 4 hour binge. Tune in if you like Pegg and Frost stuff.

I like Jake Johnson in most things so naturally I thought Hoops would be a funny concept. But it's basically just dick and fart jokes with the occasional chuckle here and there. Good show to throw on in the background while I half paying attention and doing housework, I guess?

w/r/t Boba Fett -- he got huge because they released the toy in advance of RotJ, everybody thought he was amazing and bad-ass looking and *certain* to have a major role, the toy was wildly popular, and then the movie came out and he tripped into a Sarlacc's mouth, womp-womp. But the toy sustained him in the fandom imagination to the extent that Lucas decided to make the Fetts actually important to his universe in the prequels.

Hadn't heard anything about this, thanks. Feel like it's about time for Pegg and Wright to get back together.

I think Boba Fett was embraced as a representation of the cool, unknown, under developed aspect of the Star Wars universe. Believe it or not, there was a time Lucas/Star Wars left people wanting more. Probably ironic that the one time great symbol of Star Wars’ mysteriousness is getting such in depth treatment.

The whole Fett-ish lore (hehe) and things like Darth Maul magically surviving being sliced in half (don't know if that's a spoiler at this point but, meh) are just some of the reasons why I can't get into most of the new Star Wars stuff. It's pretty much nothing but fanservice/fan-fiction at this point that overly relies on nostalgia and ret-conned characters over anything original and creative.

Watched the first episode of Mandolorian last year and while I thought it was decent, we all immediately knew why they made the show as soon as Baby Yoda popped up. You know they had to get those plush toys and merchandise out in time for the holiday season...

Anyone ever watch Shark Tank? My friend was on there on Friday and got offers from all 5 sharks and chose Mark Cuban. I'm so jealous but happy for her.

Don't have DirectTV. Le Batard first got it on my radar, then some folks in the Media Lounge.

Jay's great, but I pretty much love everything about the show.

Glad Kingdom has found a bigger audience because of Netflix. First couple of seasons were some of the best tv going around and no one even knew about it. I think it was one or two people on here got me onto it when it was still going. Glad they did.
