No way Melo gets to 7 but that would be cool if he did. Hes still one of the guys with elite skill in this draft to work off of. Being 6'8 with that type of passing ability is great. Just needs to work on that shot and playing some D but at 7 I wouldn't complain too much.

I'd take Ball at 7 but I think he most likely is a bust he really needs a coaching staff to be stern with him and not just hand over the keys. I guess Casey could do that though.

From what I've seen he is pretty dynamic with the ball not a vertical athlete but he has a nice first step and really good handles something you want in a lead guard they say he has been terrible in interviews maybe he's trying to force his way to a team with no PG

If anyone watched melo youd know hes always been the shy guy in interviews, why are his short responses a shock to people? I could see if there was a rude aspect but hes always respectful. Awkward like derrick rose

I honestly never understood Ball in the top 3 talk to me Edwards and Wiseman are clearly the top 2 guys and after that its a mix of 4 to 6 guys down a tier.

I think Ball still goes to Chicago at the latest but stranger things have happened.

Drummond was widely looked at as a top 3 for months before the draft and a top 5 pick the few weeks before the draft and ended up falling to us at #9 largely because teams thought he lacked a motor / work ethic.

Still don’t want LaMelo, even at #7, but I’d understand it. If we pass on Hayes for him, tho, I’ll be super mad.

If Ball is somehow still there at 7, then it means that Hayes and likely Haliburton went ahead of that. Seems pretty unlikely to me, but I guess you never know. I’d think the Knicks would try to pull a move to go get him before 7 if he starts sliding though.

MIN - Edwards
GSW - Wiseman (Deni smokescreen)
CHA - Obi
CLE - Deni
CHI - Okoro
ATL - Hayes

I'd hate for us to pick Ball in that scenario.

I'd take Okongwu or Vassell.

Still want to trade Luke for extra picks in this Draft. Hopefully Morey in PHI is willing to move his picks for a shooter

I don't think he gets past the Bulls it was rumored they want a lead playmaker.

According to tankathon's mock draft these guards are some "names" currently listed 15 or lower:

Lewis, Hampton, Anthony, Terry, Maxey, Maledon, Bane, Flynn, Mannion, Winston.

Pretty interesting group of guys.

I'm really surprised to see Cole Anthony mocked at 20. Wasn't too long ago he was viewed as the best guard in his class.

Unless we get melo with our top pick. I imagine we will draft a front court player and then trade back into the first and get our pg. I imagine cole anthony as he is an alpha and plays like rose.

Ball's definitely not worth trading up for, but if he's on the board at 7 and Hayes is off the board, it's probably a risk worth taking.

Interesting scenario would be Hayes and Ball on the board at #7.

Draft speculation from Lazarus Jackson at detroitbadboys.com. Take it for whatever you think it’s worth:

And obviously not a surprise if true, but here’s a rumor that Wiseman doesn’t want to get drafted by MIN:

Yeah, no surprise with Wiseman and the ill fit with MN. Towns is very clearly a center and cannot play PF whatsoever despite his ability to shoot. He's not very mobile at all. It'd be a headache trying to fit those two together

His scenario is a top 3 of Edwards, Ball, Wiseman in some order then Deni, Okoro and Obi...

In that case I'd hope we pick Hayes.

I’ve previously stated that while I like Haliburton as a prospect, I don’t necessarily like his fit with the Pistons. Well, I think I’m changing my stance on that. I’ve always loved his intangibles, but I’ve really come to appreciate the potential versatility he can provide. And it looks like he’s worked hard to add some size and raise the release point on his shot a little bit. Might not become a superstar type player, but I don’t believe he’ll be a miss either. I’m just starting to wonder whether he’ll even be there when the Pistons pick?

Of all the guys in the top 10 he does seem to be the one actually "on the rise".

I think the Deni stuff is a smokescreen from the Warriors, trying to gain something by dealing #2 (Wiseman) to move down and pick up a vet while landing someone like Haliburton.
