The Heat might have some insight on Juwan Howard’s nephew

Jaden is and has been one of my top picks for the Heat. The less we walk about Jaden the better. Didnt realize his brother was drafted in 2019 and is also 6'10 and while not as talented seems to be a hard worker himself trying to stick in the league. The rumor is attitude problems led to his benching in college despite being the most blue chip prospect on the roster. The kid works hard and his the biggest risk/reward if he falls to our pick. He loves playing D. No way Riley doesnt draft him if he is there. After what AD did to us in the finals this is a lock if he is on the board.

Watch his interview from high school and tell me what you think about his culture.

Other players that had down years before draft.. Bradley Beal and to an extent Tyler Herro. Nobody knows what the details of the Washington situation were but id take a flyer on him easy.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

How was a 6’10 twig going to help us against AD?

He has the talent to go top 10, I didn't dive too deep into it but I think there's a Hassan vibe around him..he really underperformed for some reason..

The majority of what I've read was focused on his low level of intelligence and lack of bball IQ. A guy can sure look good in a gym by himself, but when he's playing against actual competition he doesn't perform. One of the articles I read talked about how he was a leader for Washington, in personal fouls, technical fouls and lowest effective field goal percentage.

**Rant**
Spoiler:
There are so many hard working kids in this draft with a high IQ who actually produced results, that I'm a bit bewildered by anyone's fascination with McDaniels. The comparisons I see are of Kevin Durant. Durant obliterated college basketball. It's shameful to compare a lower level prospect to KD. He's not in the same galaxy. "But what if he reaches his potential?!" No. Stop. Every kid doesn't have the potential to turn into a great player. Just because he's tall and has a smooth jumper doesn't mean he's got some gifted potential. Having all that AND being super competitive AND being highly intelligent would sway the opinion.

Most of the freshman do not have high basketball IQ. If he is not hardworking than that's a problem. Basketball IQ one of my least worries because that's one thing coaches can easily develop along with weight training. I do not know a lot about Jaden personality. The fouls and efficiency on face appears he struggled to adjust to the speed of the game and the responsibility to carry the team. It's a concern if I was picking top ten. I will look into him more, I haven't seen anything about a tendency to take bad shots. Physically and skill wise he is of elite level. Okpala was a player with low Basketball IQ and I mention that before drafting him and it would take him time. Like wise do the same with McDaniels, stash him and develop him and reap the benefits.

I think his talents is worth it. Unlike most in here I think a rookie will likely not contribute much the rookie season.

DayofMourning- who are your top 5 for us?

RJ Hampton- I like him he is a project though and likely will not be there still at 20. has a Daquan Cook comp. shot should improve in the pros, likes to drive. big 2 guard. Question on him is does he have that dog? how bad does he want it? will he continue to work hard? Depends on his interview but he has all the tools to be good.

Would you rate Hampton higher than McDaniels?

I think Cole Anthony could slip. Not sure I'd draft him over Maxey, Lewis or Smith.

I would be surprise if the Heat passed on Anthony. I couldnt see Pat see not drafting Greg Anthony's son who I am sure he knows the kid very well.

He's a guy I think MIGHT be really good with a lesser role and more talent around him.

He's tough. I think he's a better shooter then his numbers. He's alethic and quick. I don't really like this type of player, but I see some Kemba in him. Which is good value at #20.

Looks like some decent PG prospects will be there at #20, not sure how to rank them since all of them have their issues.

Kira Lewis Jr.

Cole Anthony

Tyrell Terry

Tyrese Maxey

Tre Jones

Malachi Flynn

I rate McDaniels over Hampton. I can see the fire in MCDaniels that I dont see yet from RJ.
for Guards I have Anthony>Maxey>Maledon>Ramsey>Lewis>Hampton in our range

I can't pin point anything that Hampton does great that he can hang his hat on.

I like the potential of Anthony being someone who can break the defense down with ease and get to the free throwline at a high level. We lack that aspect outside of Butler. We all knew we needed Waiters talent to do just that, but his selfishness just made him someone we couldn't work with. Cole reminds me a lot of Chris Jackson
