I think conference rankings were easy, becomes tricky when you inter conference especially for the last playoff spot teams

i love Robin's moves this offseason after hating every prior to it tbh.. he's set up well compared to everyone just banking on 1sts and overvaluing 1st round picks that get moved for fringe starters/role players around draft time if it's anywhere past 10.

Vucevic (20 ppg)
VanVleet (18 ppg)
Bojan (20 ppg)
Paschall (14 ppg) = added 75 ppg, lost 24 ppg from Ingram = +51 ppg net gain
$300+ to work with in offseason to re-sign Bojan + add another big name free agent

So there's the possibility of adding like 65-70 irl NBA points in the span of 2 offseasons if he doesn't do any more trades on top of having some young guys like Cole Anthony + a rookie next offseason

gave up 2 first round picks but got one back in 2022 and still has Atlanta's 2021 1st which is a Curry injury away from being a really good pick. Paschall is first round talent even on a bad GSW team.

until I see a young team build from the ground up keeping young guys and competing, it's not an auto-win trade for me for those types of trades. trading for picks is never a "bad move" for the teams rebuilding/stacking up picks but then people go hard on **** on bad draft picks after giving them a year to succeed or fail lol.. which is funny too because it's all a process. i think the biggest thing is packaging those picks at the right time for a star (like the AD trade a season or 2 ago).

i think Cleveland this year will be the first time someone keeps all the young guys and they pan out to be a super team but he's been very patient and drafted well.. Charlotte might be in that group too soon but some of that was through trades obv. Indy got some luck with draft spots but drafted great.

also one of these teams slotted to be really good is going to be **** by the sim. i wonder who it'll be. Pooch has to break that curse since last year was a fluke in terms of being disrespected by the sim

Paschall was a top 7 rookie...Not to mention, he's on a $10 contract locked in for 4 years... 5 other gms wanted him-and
as always- were too cheap...I am very high on him- and I dont buy the playing on a bad team argument. And I look at him being on that GSW team as a blessing- he will learn from champions- which will only be good for him...

He's from NY, got that winning attitude and was NBA All rookie first team. Robin was tough- I believe I should have gotten another 1st for some of the very reasons Soul mentioned. Picks represent gambles with no "NBA intel"...We have a seasons worth of intel on this kid...
