Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospect Watch
As much as I like Tyrell Terry, I would be happy with Desmond Bane too. At this point, it's going to be hard for us fans to see the interviews and workouts that will make the difference between them. I'm hopeful that our culture/player development can make either choice a win win

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospect Watch
I've mentioned Sam Merrill as a really great extreme value option for a late 2nd to undrafted prospect on the cheap that is basically a clone of Luke Kennard! So IF we really do covet elite shooting and playmaking, We should absolutely be looking to sign Merrill. At the very least, On a two way contract and toss him in the G league for seasoning and development.
We CAN GET OUR KENNARD
without ever having to give up our 10th pick. I really hope that James Jones and his front office is doing their " Due diligence on this kid, As he's undoubtedly going to be one of the extreme value pick and steal for some team that's clever enough to pick him up!
And
We CAN GET OUR KENNARD

Something irked me about Edwards when reading that he said 'i want bragging rights' (if he gets picked #1).
Like....really? Seems he and Melo are kids who can't wait to get paid. Lack of maturity.

Looks like that wingspan number is wrong and it was actually 6'5. Not bad considering he was only 6'1 in shoes (shorter than I thought)

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

YEP!

Still pretty good. And he's 6'1? Which happens to be the same size as Van Vleet, Whom he's often compared to. I still think he'll end up being one of the underrated steals of the draft. And I still see his ultimate outcome as a mix of Deron Williams and Fred Van Vleet.

Still would like some sort of solid confirmation on the combine measurements for Riller and a few other prospects from the combine.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospect Watch
Spoiler:
Is he projected as outside of the top 60?
I have a challenge for you. Instead of assuming Sarver will buy another pick in the 2nd round or something, or that we could actually trade a player for one (both extremely unlikely), how about find guys NOT projected in top 60 anywhere you think would be worth signing, like we did with Lecque...but better players obviously.
It also seems like every time someone mentions if we traded up, they'd want, say, Toppin or Haliburton, your response has nothing to do with only that predicament, but something like "Wouldn't it be awesome if we did that and got ANOTHER first rounder for Jalen Smith if we get Haliburton or Bane or Terry if we get Toppin?" It would be great to hear your response and opinionabout the proposal mentioned instead of adding onto it thinking we might somehow end up with another first (also EXTREMELY unlikely).
I think they only possiblity of us ending up with two first rounders is if we trade 14 for 26 because someone like Okungwu slips and Boston really wants him.
That might be preferable to the FO too to add players that are cost controlled, given the financial climate, especially if they are more NBA ready If we keep Saric, Carter and Payne, our depth should be mostly fine. We could also probably get one of Terry, Lewis or Bane at 14 and possibly Bane, Tyler Bey, Paul Reed, Tillie, Nnaji, Flynn, etc at 26.

-Well in pretty much every draft, The draft ends at the 60th selection right? And in most every ranking list, Merrill's listed as a late 2nd to undrafted, So essentially, Doesn't that put him in that projected range obviously?

https://www.espn.com/nba/draft/bestavailable/_/position/ovr/page/3
- For Espn, He's listed at 58.
ESPN's Top 100 list slots Merrill just outside draft range as the 61st overall player. Two other mock draft sites, NBA Scouting Live (65th), NBA Draft Room (72nd) have him a bit further out on the fringe while NBADraft.net puts Merrill well outside as the 100th-best prospect on its big board.Aug 24, 2020
So yes, I'd say all in all, That Merrill is absolutely in that range.
Also, I've mentioned such prospects as Naji Marshall, Josh Hall,Tyshon Alexander, Who are all projected to be outside the top 60 of the draft. And for those three specifically being mentioned by Matt Babcock ( NBA scout) as having Pre-draft workouts in Phoenix.
https://www.babcockhoops.com/post/nba-pre-draft-workouts-phoenix-arizona
?s=20
Now, It did in fact mention those prospects practicing against professional nba players.
The first day I was there, I had the opportunity to watch them during individual workouts and play pickup versus a group of NBA players the second day.
To put it simply, Marshall was terrific all the way around both days I was in Phoenix. He showed a much improved outside shot, which I was hoping to see. He displayed his unparalleled toughness and competitiveness, which were the main reasons I liked him in the first place. During the pickup games, which included a handful of current NBA players,
Could it have been suns players in private workouts perhaps? maybe, or maybe not? But the suns did take a chance on Lecque for his high upside. So it's not like it's a complete impossibility that they might be working out, targeting some cheap value acquisitions for positional depth, Especially if they're intending to committ larger portions of their cap to specific veteran free agents, Or even with intent to possibly resign current rotational players ( Saric or Baynes perhaps) could that be a possibility you suppose?

Perhaps they actually anticipate some of these late target value prospects as being able to contribute or have a better overall impact than what Okobo, Diallo, Kaminsky would provide? Could that be a reasonable possibility perhaps man?
I have a challenge for you. - Well, Do you honestly have interest in potential prospects in that range? Or is this more or less a polite diversionary tactic to help quelch my frequent, often complicated over the top trade proposals?

It also seems like every time someone mentions if we traded up, they'd want, say, Toppin or Haliburton, your response has nothing to do with only that predicament,
-My sincere apologies man. I'll really focus on not derailing the topic by going off tangent. Besides, By now, I'm sure that my perspective on my ideal draft night outcome has been made overtly clear. So i'll stick to the exact premise emphatically k.

I think they only possiblity of us ending up with two first rounders is if we trade 14 for 26 because someone like Okungwu slips and Boston really wants him.
We'll just have a difference of opinion on this. But that's of course ok, And we'll see how things play out. And obviously, Okungwu has almost no chance to fall to 10. But there are always other options to be considered. If Boston trades up, They'll most likely try to package Hayward and one of their picks to move up into the top 5? Most likely one of Atlanta, Cleveland ( for Drummond perhaps)? or to Chicago for something like Hayward/14 for Porter, And WCJ?

That might be preferable to the FO too to add players that are cost controlled, given the financial climate, especially if they are more NBA ready If we keep Saric, Carter and Payne, our depth should be mostly fine. We could also probably get one of Terry, Lewis or Bane at 14 and possibly Bane, Tyler Bey, Paul Reed, Tillie, Nnaji, Flynn, etc at 26.
- I'm actually fine with keeping Saric, As long as he understands/ accepts his role as a backup/bench 4/5. And he resigns for the right amount. Around say 6-8 million per.

Anyways, If you or Kerrsed or any other mods, etc. are having issues with my posts, perspectives, and presentations, And find them to be grating, Just simply PM me, And bring it to my attention k ( I'm a work in progress)

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospect Watch
We want a second rounder bad enough, we’ll call Morey... he has 4
It’s not unlikely we snag one. Them bringing in these late/no pick prospects shows they are at least thinking of filling in the end of the bench with a babymaybe or two. The price is right.

I just mean when someone mentions a thought about something specific, you might ignore that specific idea and thoughts, and add a bunch more to what was proposed, instead of commenting on that user's idea.
You can post how you want and invest the time you like to invest on complex trade ideas or lengthy posts and videos about people, and we have PM'd about them and whether they are as impactful a something more succint and to the point.
Obviously you feel the longer posts are more effective, so that's your prerogative and maybe a lot of people love reading them.

You're right man. I have to focus on the topic in the post. And not hijack it at times, That is my bad and I'll own that. So I do agree with you, And will absolutely work to correct that.

As for my lengthy posts, Admittedly, I still do it far too often. And I do realize that it irritates many people, Which isn't really my intent. It seems that sometimes I get on a subject or topic, The content just flows out fast, And before I know it, I have a full page of text. It honestly frustrates even me for not being more concise. But I will diligently keep working on changing that behavior. I hope to get there soon.

Another prospect that is slated to go undrafted in the 60s'.
He's actually pretty good at isolation scoring.

Nickiel Alexander Walker. With shades of Jordan Clarkson.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospect Watch
For the prospects that fit our range, I would be happy if Suns draft one of these 3 - Haliburton, Vassell, Lewis. In that order. But then again, I don't think this draft pick impacts that much of our chances at play-offs next year, so I wouldn't be upset if it's none of these guys.
