Wow.. that stroke is so similar to Klay.. even the kick at times. Near perfect technique.
Does he defend / move off the ball / handle the ball?

He understands passing angles, moves well off the ball. Don’t know about his defense but I assume it sucks since Pop traded him away. Or maybe he’s really low IQ. Don’t know why they dropped him. Best stroke since Maravich.

Gallo and him have eerily similar numbers on all counts. Key differences I could notice from a few youtube videos-
- Gallo is slightly better and has a wider variety of ways to create his own shots. Better handling. Has the penchant for making the occasional HORSE shot.
- Both below average defenders, but Bertans is considerably more athletic and stronger. Can handle himself on post D, and just looks more assertive on D than Gallo.
- Gallo is 31. Bertans is 27 - entering only his 5th year in the NBA, so he's probably got a bigger upside. I'd hope Vogel, Lebron and AD can influence him into being a better player. Kinda fits with the age profile of AD too.
Although, your point about the Spurs dumping him raises question marks, I'm leaning towards him over Gallo if we got a shot.

That stroke is poetry in motion. Worthy of a Lakers jersey. Gallo? Nah. Not for me. Bertans has fight in him. To me, Gallo always seemed indifferent, never showed any real fire. Not a champ, in my eyes.
Bertans is cold blooded. Vogel can convince him to play defense!

I wish convincing someone to play defense is that simple bec shooters like Kapono would have played longer in the league. Pelinka made it his personal mission to load this team with high % 3pt shooters like Troy Daniels, Cook, Dudley etc and all of them didn't play any significant minutes with Troy ending up in Denver. Like most fans here, I'm tired of this team laying bricks esp when Lebron and Rondo try to set them up for open 3's. I really think it's imperative that Pelinka would consult Vogel in terms of picking the right free agents bec this team really needs that consistent scorer to help this team esp when Lebron sits.

I'm making a kind of a transfer board with how I prioritize Lakers' transfer targets. My general philosophy is to not sacrifice our core identity - DEFENSE. AD+Vogel lead that. Lebron buys in. KCP, Rondo, Caruso, Green, Bradley & Dwight contributed tremendously. Here goes -
1. Jerami Grant - Another Klutch guy, which can be a risky proposition for the Lakers given that there's already 6 Klutch guys on the roster. But it also means he's gonna be an easier catch than the rest of this list.
- I'm choosing him over Bertans / Gallo because he doesn't sacrifice the defensive identity of the team.
- Gives us a elite wing defender to throw at the KD, Kawhi, PG13, Butler, Tatum kinda guys, besides Lebron and AD.
- 38.9% 3fg last year - not elite but only stands to improve around Lebron and Rondo. I'll take 33% with that kinda defensive prowess.
- 25 year old - could be a great corner piece long term for the Lakeshow.
Edit: Adding a better / older scouting video on Grant I found later
2. Ibaka - Sign and trade for Green if we use the MLE on Grant, else MLE + McGee / Cook.
- The dude is just an amazing rim protector. Those of you who think Dwight is great, just hold your breath. This guy's the next best thing to AD & Giannis.
- He's a champion vet role player. No ego. Great chemistry guy who hosts a ridiculously funny cooking show.
- He's averaging 13-15 ppg over the last 8 years @ 50%+
- 36% career 3 fg%
- If we have Boogie, him and AD as our bigs, this team is conservatively gonna add 8-10 ppg offensively, without the clutter in the lane.
3. Sign Korver / Belinelli on the minimum - or at least make a handshake agreements with both of them, till we're done with filling out the CAP as much as possible. Savvy veteran elite shooters and off the ball movers at minimum contracts are like Black Friday 90% discounted limited edition Jordan Brand sneakers. Cook, Trey Young, Waiters, Dudley, Caruso, Green, KCP & Bradley are never gonna be close to that level. Only takes one of them getting hot for Lebron and Rondo to milk them for 15-20 points that night for an easy win. And they're both way more serviceable on D than Cook, Young and non playoff Rondo.
4 . Bertans / Gallinari - Bertans first priority because he's younger, better pure shooter, looks more energetic on defense(if that means anything). Either of them will cost us Danny Green's defense, but I figure we can live with it for the definite offensive upside.
If Pelinka gets Ibaka + Grant and resigns our free agents(AD, Rondo, KCP, Boogie, Morris **No Dwight**) it'll make us pretty heavy favourites to win next year IMO. This team is gonna choke elite offenses to under 80-90 points on some nights. And without a lane clogging big in the mix, the offense is gonna conservatively jump at least 8-10 points to 114-116 levels.
Bertans / Gallo & Korver / Belinelli would an icing on the cake and make us kinda invincible, regardless of what the rest of the league does.
Add / subtract / change and explain your choices please.
