Not the AG to T-Wolves deal we have been talking about ...

But perhaps this is more realistic??

We get to keep #15 and add #17. With Johnson we save one year of salary from AG and hit free agency cap space early.

Yup this seems like the underwhelming Magic moves where all used to, and probably the most realistic assuming they're desperate to move AG.

This is a sneaky good trade offer. I dont believe Wolves will be any good in 2022 with players they have. In 2022 we have Isaac back and pound Minny on every occassion. I would feel nice to tank and win at the same time.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Not knowing if anything has changed in terms of the rules on trading picks, I would imagine the Twolves pick would have protections. I guess for someone who thinks there's more value in the middle rounds picks 15 and 17 would be exciting.

How do you guys feel about this deal? You get a pick between whoever is left at 3 while getting off Fournier and maybe kick start a quick rebuild with the young guys you already have.

I think only reason you guys would accept this is if we took fournier which is obviously my least favorite player on your team but Vuc with us would be really good and we can get someone more NBA ready like Bane/Saddiq Bey at 15

I think some of us will like it but i dont. I dont want to have anything to do with top 3 picks unless its a bargain. Chance that it will be positive value during first 4 years is slim. #15 is a good compromise between player talent and rookie scale contract.
Overall its all about potential superstars, if there was high chance to get one at the top, there would be little to no trade talks.

Charlotte takes on Wiggins and gives up Batum and a 2nd to move up one spot? That Batum deal is going to be plenty valuable at the deadline.
Going from former worst contract in the league to the new worst contract in the league would be funny though.

No thanks. Gotta keep 15. Future lottery protected 1st is ok though.

It would have to be top 20 protected future 1st for any picks in this draft.

Meh, if push came to shove, lottery protection would be enough. But Edwards would have to be available. So Minny would have to pass on him.

I don’t consider Evan a negative value, he would be very useful to GSW. I think Orl at least keeps their #15 as this deal stands.

Personally, I leave CHA out and take my chances with Wiggins and #2 for Vuc and small filler. If GSW wants To take Evan into TPE, throw us back something like Paschall. I’m moving AG anyway, so Paschall would be nice scoring PF off the bench. We don’t get the $$$ savings next offseason but I like Wiggins’ 20 inefficient ppg in front of our team D and versatile depth. I hope for Edwards at 2 if CHA trades to 1 to get Wiseman, otherwise why move all the way up...Hayes? Toppin?

You sure you’re a Warriors fan man? How you make a deal with the Magic that doesn’t get GS the one guy they really want from Orlando (Aaron Gordon). No offense to Vuc, but he’s not the skill set GS looks for in non-Draymond centers. Need to be more rim running shot blockers.

That being said, what are you Magic fans take on Bamba these days? A deal with him and Gordon involved would work well for GS imo

For what ever trade it is, I want to keep the 15th pick, because there are lots of good and interesting prospect there.

I'm not sure your awarness of issue with Warriors entering 2021 is.
You guys only won championships under 2 conditions:
1) Irving, Kevin Love got hurt in 2016 , you never faced actual nba big that plays on good team, like you will now face Davis
2) 6'11 Kevin Durant had low-key elite defensive years with you ,being weak side shot blocker and great defensive player overall

You don't just need mobile wing and rim runner, you need player that will make Davis work on both ends. He flat out dwarfs everybody on your team and as long as Lebron and him are healthy, you have zero shot at beating them. Probably gentelman sweep at best.

Rim runners like WSC will do NOTHING against Davis. They will be just swallowed in post, as most of them are one move players, or having no post moves whatsoever( hello WSC, how's that experiement went ? ) or they have any objective chance at making 3 point shots to keep Davis honest and away from rim.

Where i get why you need player like Gordon , to cover Lebron, you will still be so outclassed in paint to the point it really won't matter what you do on Lebron.

Younger Curry, healthy Klay, young Green still couldn't beat Cavs with Irving , James and Love. That's why whole " Durant joined 73 wins team" never made sense to me. He joined team that was still outclassed in nba finals.
Old, banged up Curry, post ACL tear Klay and washed up Green have no shot against Davis who is probably one of best well rounded bigs since Tim Duncan. Your fanbase is so fixed on "finding LEbron cover" because you belive 6'7 Green will be able to play center once more or switch on guys like Kawhi, George, Lebron, Davis... He flat out won't.
Without getting rid of Wiggins and massive athletic and BBIQ boost on PF/C spot, you probably are not even passing Denver next year in playoffs if you meet.

Your best move for nba championship is to get rid of both Green, Wiggins and ship pick in progress. Without some Ben Simmons, Giannis, Gordon + center, Covington + center, Siakam, Embiid, Porzingis type player you are not going anywhere.

Vuc has value right now. He's an allstar coming off a great playoff series.

Yeah..........don’t think you watched the Warriors much. They faced Davis twice in the playoffs. Draymond guarded him and held his own making Davis uncomfortable.
Irving and Love were hurt in 2015, not 2016. They were healthy, and the Warriors were not, when they were down 3-1 came back and still need a last second plays from Bron and Irving to win. If you think that is outclassed, you and I differ on the word’s definition.
You don’t play to a teams strength to beat them, you up your strengths and make them adjust to you.

Didn’t answer the question btw and this isn’t a Warriors thread so, again, opinions on Bamba?

21 years old Davis feasted on you guys avearging 30 ppg back in 2015.
In 2018 more mature Davis averaged 28 points and 15 rebound on you guys. Once again, Durant did all the lifiting being leader in scoring and second in assists and rebounds in that series.

Whole point about Green being "ok" defending him doesn't hold because how much focus was on Davis. Who were second and third Pelicans option? Jrue Holiday, who is at very best bit above average starter for his position and Moore, guy who is 2 years later- deep bench player. Now Davis isn't even best player on his own team and you don't have, in this moment nobody to even stop him, as Green fall off cliff in last 2 years. Let' not even talk about having nobody to rotate on Lebron...

2015 you beat Lebron and G league Cavs. Matthew Dillawidova, Mozgov, Frye, Jefferson, James Jones... This team would not make playoffs in G league without Lebron.

2016 you shouldn't even play nba finals if Green got well deserved suspension after nutshot on Davis.

2017-2018 championships were carried on back of back to back finals mvp Durant who is now on other team.

I really don't know why "experts" and some of fans are so delusional about current Warriors roster. Bunch of injuried, returning from injuries and washed up players and human basketball disaster Andrew Wiggins, you will be 2013 Lakers without maaajoooooor improvments and huge trades. People are on drugs if they belive 30 years old, post ACL tear Klay will be chasing guards off screens or 30 years old Green will somehow regain his athletics after being below average nba starter for 2 years.

Your only path toward serious basketball is to find at least 2 wing defenders capable of scoring and one elite, and i mean ELITE big.

Here's a simple, low-key deal that might get everyone what they want:

GSW: Bamba + #15 + Hornets FFRP (lottery protected? Top ten?)
CHA: #2
ORL: #3

Golden State get a big man who might still have enough former #6 sheen on him to make this deal happen. He's a long big who can hit the 3 - they will absolutely be able to use him if he can keep up on the court. With the #15 they can take Bey, so they still get a prospect they're allegedly keen on. Then they also get the bonus potential pick from the Hornets. Bamba + Bey

This deal works in the trade checker with no other salaries required if the Warriors want to use some of their exception to absorb Bamba. If extra value is required we can send Ross to the Warriors and they send Poole in return to balance salaries and make everything fit with the trade exception. Maybe the Hornets are convinced to throw in Monk instead? Plenty of pieces to move around.

Charlotte get the #2 pick so they can take Wiseman, who they're allegedly keen on.

With the #3 pick we take Hayes/Haliburton. Now, we have insurance if Fournier opts out, and it hasn't cost us one of our starters. WeHam are probably more inclined to keep Vuc than Bamba, and this clears out the mess of duplication of talent/prospects.

Vuc/Birch
Gordon/Aminu
Okeke/(MCW/Iwundu)
(Hayes/Haliburton)/Ross
Fultz/?

If Fournier opts-in, then either of those guys can become the backup PG and take SG/secondary playmaker duties if partnered with Fultz (or we can trade Fournier which opens up the next option--). If Fournier opts out, then they slot into starting. Both seem capable enough to hit the ground running, but that probably means WeHam want another experienced pair of hands for the backcourt off the bench. Do they fill that role in a Fournier trade? Do they resign MCW, or is he better suited to playing wing now? Do they use the TPE and then absorb DSJr if the Knicks are looking to offload him? Or sign another veteran on the cheap - reunite Clifford and Lin?

At any rate, I don't see the Warriors getting a much better deal, to be honest. Those top 2 spots just aren't in demand, and I'm sure they'd rather not overpay for a prospect they like better slated to go later, and cheaper - plus a big, who easily would've been a top 3 pick in this draft class.

Mo Bamba and or T. Ross and 15 ain’t getting you a top 3 pick man, come on now. And Bamba would not be a top 3 pick in this class.

Something around Gordon/Bamba/15 for 2/Wiggins and a future protected pick maybe a 2nd rounder as well.

What are the better offers on the table for GSW then?

I don't want the #2 pick. I just want one of Hayes or Haliburton if we trade up, and they're projected to go over the next 5 picks. There isn't a 'prize' that is being sold at #2, so there isn't much value to the pick.

We certainly aren't doing the Warriors the favour of taking Wiggins' contract and giving them all that talent.

GSW:Bamba + Ross + Aminu + #15

ORL: Wiggins + #2

The Athletic Magic Mail Bag

How active do you believe the Magic need to be in trade talks with the draft approaching? — @RonTheTall

The Magic need to be extraordinarily active in trade talks.

Look, Orlando has made significant progress over the last two years, but it sits in the middle of the NBA pack. Drafting 16th last year and 15th this year makes it less likely that an elite talent will be available to them in the draft. And with the way Orlando’s salary cap is looking, it will be difficult for the franchise to sign a star in free agency in upcoming seasons.

So the Magic will have to get creative to add an All-Star. One avenue to do that is through trades. The team’s decision-makers need to scour the league for distressed assets and consider all opportunities.

I’m not saying Orlando should make a deal.

I’m saying the team needs to identify all of the available possibilities, and the only way to do that is to speak with other teams relentlessly.

Maybe there are trades out there that would make the Magic better. Maybe not. But it does not hurt to explore the market, and I suspect Weltman and Hammond would agree with me.
