Re: Trade Talk (Part Five)
We have to make Golden State and the Hornets believe we want Wiseman to draw better offers from the two teams right below us who want Wiseman! They have to believe we want wiseman to really dig in and give their best offers. The golden state bs about trading down is comical. They will grab Wiseman in a second. I want to keep Wiseman myself but we should look at all offers to improve our club. If somebody was willing to overpay even I would have to look. I am strongly saying take Wiseman right now because I don't think the offers I have seen are good enough to even think about moving off of a 7 foot athletic freak who is already a stud on defense and most likely will improve his offense enough to become an all star. He is a stud at our biggest weakness- defense in general but especially rim protection and altering/blocking shots in the paint. His rebounding is another huge added bonus.... We are crazy in my opinion not to take him..... I think if he had played a whole season of college ball he would have averaged 25-12. He was in just three games 20-10. Zion for example was 22-9 for his career and his shooting percentages are not as good. Plus I will take Wiseman's build over Zion. I think Zion will spend a lot of time resting sore or injured knees. The dude is thick! So what would be the hype for this draft if Wiseman plays a whole year???? He would be the run away number 1 pick with all of the hype of a Zion and maybe more- comparisons to David Robinson and Kevin Garnett are not going to get me to trade this pick. Coming out of high school this guy had the same hype as Zion did maybe more.... No brainer to me who we take unless completely blown away!

Booker and I don't think it's even close. His shooting is elite and fits perfectly with our roster. Don't get me wrong I would take Simmons but I think Booker might be best young guard in the NBA Him and Luca are 1a and 1b IMO.

How we feel about a DLO/Booker/Culver/Nance or Gordon/KAT starting 5 next year?

I really don't think so. Being that both them want him we are in the driver seat already. The Hornets have no choice but to jump GSW if they want him. We can also tell GSW that the Hornets have an offer in and if that want Wiseman they need to offer more. Whether or not we want Wiseman doesn't matter.
Also, would throw in ATL and even Chicago that might be wanting to trade up to draft him too. As long as we can make it a bidding war our intertest in him doesn't matter.
Also want to add if we are talking about trades these team already know we aren't interested in draft him because if we were why would he trade in the first place?

Pretty sure Culver would be included in a deal

I’d take Simmons primarily because he covers DLo’s and Towns’ biggest weakness, defense. Booker is a poor defender and Simmons is all NBA on that end.
That said, neither will happen this offseason.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Five)
Things are falling into place.
Booker will probably demand a trade next off season which will hopefully lower his price.
Rosas will pick Edwards and hope he has a ROY season and hope that Culver/Beasley/17th pick all up their trade value.

I’m actually about to board a plane to Phoenix in 20 minutes. I’ll go find Booker and get to the bottom of this.

I was going to post the same thing you did. Us tricking teams into believing we want him is irrelevant.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Five)
Minnesota Timberwolves trade the Number 1 Overall NBA Draft Pick, Jarrett Culver, James Johnson, Omari Spellman, Jacob Evans
Phoenix Suns for Devin Booker.
Why Phoenix Suns do it? They draft Lamelo Ball to pair with Deandre Ayton for the future. They also get $42 million in expiring cash for a max free agent in 2021.
Johnson 20
Oubre 14
Spellman 2
Evans 2
Payne 2
Diallo 2
Timberwolves get their Big 3 with KAT, DLo, & Devin Booker

Re: Trade Talk (Part Five)
Does Gordon Hayward have anything left? Rumors say he wants out of Boston. He’s 30 and had had serious injuries. Utah Hayward would be a perfect fit for this team but that guy is probably gone.
If it’s Johnson and S/T Beasley for Hayward, is it worth the risk and see if he regains his former form? Has one year left on deal making 32m. If he regains form, could probably sign him to cheaper deal.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Five)
Would you guys have any interest in a deal around a James Johnson-Ariza swap? Maybe something like JJ+Layman for Hood+Ariza?
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Hayward was pretty solid this past year, I'd definitely kick the tires on a deal for him, but the issue for us is matching salary enough to make a deal.jpatrick wrote:Does Gordon Hayward have anything left? I do Johnson/Beasley <> Hayward, but with his previous injury, it’s likely they can get better offers.
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

He's about as trustworthy as KP and Layman with this injury business. He'd eat up a ton of cap and then wear a suit on a chair half the season for a "it hurts" situation.
