I don’t want to keep Kuzma but, the trade is because I think more teams will be interested in him since he’s still on his rookie contract and will be an RFA when his deal is done.

How far up can we move in the draft with Kuzma + TD + 28 + 29?

probably top 10. this draft is a crapshoot. I think Wiseman will be the best player down the stretch but i have doubts about that too.

I think Wiseman doesn’t fall past the Hornets, they love their bigs.

I really like Hayes/Okongwu/Lewis Jr. in that 6-10 range.

they'll mess it up. with his development too probably.

OG resigns 15-20 (resigns)

(assuming Powell and OG become indispensable this upcoming season)

this pushes the Raptors over the cap - does the MLE come into play?

Umm the problem with that is we have 5 players on the roster and no cap space left.

This is another reason why we need more picks so we have 4 year rookie contracts that can also be solid rotation players. Its also another reason why we shouldn't resign Fred and hope to sign Lowry to a smaller contract. Add a couple a vets who are chasing a ring, an MLE contract and we're back in the Finals.

well i'm listing the obvious players with major contracts.

Yup, and the total of those 5 reaches 122 million leaving barely any money for the other 10-13 players we need.

Milwaukee trades: #24 and Ersan Ilyasova
Milwaukee gets: Landry Shamet and Rodney McGruder

L.A. Clippers trade: Landry Shamet and Rodney McGruder
L.A. Clippers get: Norman Powell

Raptors trade: Norman Powell
Raptors get: #24 and Ersan Ilyasova

Clippers get a similar shooter as Shamet but one that can put up 30 points on a given night. Also Powell playing with Kawhi near San Diego would be an easy retain.

Milwaukee may lose Matthews and Korver to FA. Instead of gambling on #24 (Bucks drafted Thon Maker with a #10 pick), they get a young player on his rookie contract that help right away. McGruder has 2 years left, may have to x him or send him somewhere else.

Powell for Reddick straight up? Would be nice if we can get the Pelicans to add that Wizards second rounder from this year or next.

I like Reddick in certain scenarios but not when we have Matt Thomas for 2 more years at an extremely low price.

Not sure there is any pressure to complete Norm trades while Davis is facing 7 charges. Just saying.

With what's happening with TD Norm shouldn't get traded unless its for an upgrade.

To me Reddick is definitely an upgrade. Powell’s defence is just nowhere near good enough to justify keeping over being able to get a great cutter and shooter off screens. Reddick would help our offence tremendously. Its not like we are planning to keep Norm anyways after next year so Reddick is probably the best you will get for him.

Hmmm but it was Matt Thomas, who won out rotation minutes over TD in the end. I dont think the TD situation changes anywith in regards to Norm

Reddick is pretty old. Think I'd rather have Norm and worry about his contract later.

Reddick is still putting up career numbers and a player of his strengths won't deteriorate any time soon. He's got a good 3 years left in him where he can shoot the 3 ball at a very high clip.
If Pels can include a draft pick or two in the deal for Norm, you'd have to consider it.

I've been told here before that we can't include any other players in a S&T deal [e.g. FVV S&T or Ibaka S&T].
Are we sure that's true? I seen multiple reports and analysts throwing around proposals that go against that.
Like Lowe suggesting the Bucks would be interested in a Bogdanovic S&T package also including Barnes.

If you're not happy with Powell's (above average) defence, then you will definitely hate JJ Redick's (well below average) defence. JJ Redick is definitely an upgrade when it comes to making podcasts though.

Multiple players should be allowed, that restriction is for trade exceptions i believe.

Yes, with a draft pick I'd be more interested for sure.

If we re-sign Ibaka(X) and FVV(20) as projected and trade Norman + 29 for Maledon. How much could Ibaka be given? Would we still have enough to bring in Giannis?

Ibaka
Siakam
OG
Lowry/Davis
FVV/Maledon

I'm not sure how balanced it would be. There would have to be some kind of trade to move Ibaka or Siakam for a SF.

Wow this changes everything. I was lied to all this time....

And now we can actually put together a legit trade proposal for Jrue without getting a third team involved :o

If Marc ain't coming back (which I think due to the now shortened season and fast pace of it all, might change his mind), I think there are some great low key options out there.

#1 priority is re-signing Serge. After that my favorites are:

1. Derrick Favors
2. Brampton man , Tristan Thompson
3. Nerlen Noels
4. Demarcus Cousins
5. Between Baynes/Kanter

I honestly want us to get a solid rebounder. For that reason Favors/Tristan are guys I'd be really interested in. Both also can give you spot minutes at the 4 Spot, or play next to Ibaka. Nerlens gives you that as well, and with the plethora of big men, hopefully we can steal him.

I'm not that worried about a stretch 5, especially since Ibaka and Siakam are our bigs with Boucher and RHJ there.

A solid defensive rebounder who is either athletic or cuts a lot is a need.

Why would anybody trade a legit young point guard, that was raised in our program and is loyal to our team, for Jrue.

Jrue is about to be on the wrong side of 30, has a good year or two left only, and can't be the point guard of our future.

He's amazimg but definitely overrated.

Aside from the Lakers fans and every single player on their own team, I've never seen any fanbase overrate a specific player as much as Raptors fans overrate JJ Reddick.
