I had them at 4-5 after week 9 but with different outcomes. This is till possible with a win over the Jets then upsetting the Ravens. Who btw doesnt look like the juggernaut they were last year.

I also wouldn’t give up on the division title just yet. The Bills still has Seattle, Arizona, Pittsburgh, 49ers on their schedule and the Patriots in foxborough.

If the Pats dont win the division they could get in with one of the 3 non division winning playoff spots.

Pats play the Jets twice.
Bills at home late in december.

Ravens in foxborough.

Chargers then Rams on a short week in LA.

Arizona in Foxborough.

@ Houston who sucks badly.

@ Miami in december, they have looked good lately, Pats have struggled in Miami over the years but I thought that was a Brady reason, Cam is 3-0 vs Miami over his career.

So looking at this schedule I say the worst part of it is over, could have had a couple of wins against Denver and Buffalo and everything would have looked that much better.

Chiefs, 49ers (both super bowl teams)
Seattle on a goal line stand
Only stinker was against Denver

They need to go 7-2 at least to be in the playoff race, or 8-1.

Do you want them to make the playoffs as a 9-7 type team? I think a potential top 5 pick is far more valuable than getting smacked in the first round.

Would any of Olzewski, Byrd, Myers or Zuber start for Alabama or Clemson? How the **** do you expect to finish the year 7-2 or better lol.

At this rate, we might make 5-11.
But, I think that we should tank the whole rest of the way. 2-14.

The record is hideous, but they've had three games where they've had the ball, marching down the field with a chance to win it in the final few minutes. Failed all three times, of course, but for a team that missed a ton of players to opt-outs, their starting QB and DPOY CB to covid for multiple weeks, no practices for 2 weeks, it's not that bad. If Newton doesn't fumble against Buffalo and gets one more yard against Seattle, the perception is wildly different. I expect them to be in every game going forward and it's just a matter of not fumbling the games away really.

After the opt-outs, this team was in the 6-8 win range. Still had the coaching, some defensive talent, decent o-line and special teams, but there's just no getting around the fact that our offense is really, really bad.

Taking away our two defensive touchdowns, we are scoring 17.4 points a game, tied for next to last with the Giants. Only the Jets are definitively worse. Terrible at WR, TE, and QB, and centered on two older players that had/have little chance to stay healthy in Edelman and Cam.

I am hopeful for the future because of Bill and some of the young talent we have, but as far as this year goes, we had no chance to make chicken salad out of chicken ****. Bench Cam, trade Gilmore, and roll the maximum amount of cap room that we can over to next year. This whole season has had me looking for when we get to play the Jets next.

I understand that logically tanking makes sense at this point. But emotionally, I just don't want to sit through a season of football like that, especially under Belichick. The NFL isn't like the NBA where one player (who can only be had at the top of the draft) can make or break your chances of being a true contender. And I've always respected Bill's ability to teach and improve his team as the season went on. I expect him to do it again (I don't believe Bill would ever tank). And yeah, maybe that means we go 7-9 and get the 7th seed or 6-10 and just miss it. But at least they'll be fighting and worth cheering for.

That said, if they fight and end up 3-13 and nab one of the top QBs, I won't be heart broken. ;)

Didnt say I did, but thats what it would take imo, 7 wins at least.

Finishing 8-8 could get you the 7th seed but thats barely.

If you look back over this season they've been in every single game this year except the 49ers game.

If Cam goes to the left they would've beaten Seattle. They took the Chiefs almost 3 quarters without a TD. Defense gave up only 19.

Fumble against Buffalo where they had at least a FG to send it to OT.

It could have easily been

-win over KC with Cam
-win over Buffalo
-win over Denver

I want the Pats to stay relevant, to make the playoffs without Brady.

I get the big picture, with a top pick to set us up but they're not bad enough to get a top 3 QB, not good enough to win it all.

So I'd rather get a mid 1st rnd and get to the playoffs with this rag tag team.

It's not like the cap room is going to go away next year if they made the playoffs.

Reading a ton of ‘ifs’. Every 2-5 team thinks like that.

Want to know why they're 2-5 and not 4-3? Because they have the worst weapons in the NFL and one of the softest DLs in the NFL. This isnt a good football team. They have an unbelievably good O Line and thats about it.

People rooting for a 7-9 season and hoping to get the last seed so we have the pleasure of getting our rectums searched by the Chiefs :noway: :noway: :noway:

Man Brady looks okay in a bucs uniform, but Gronk looks absolutely hideous in red. Wish he was in patriot navy instead.

Yea... Brady looks better in the TB uniform than Gronk. If he was going to leave NE, Gronk is someone that would look best in the black Raiders uniforms.

That being said as much as I like Gronk, (for his health and sanity) I am somewhat glad he is with Tampa Bay instead of New England. I do wish Brady had stayed but Gronk on a team without any above average wide receivers at this stage of his career would be asked to take on too much punishment by someone like BB. He already is doing more than he probably bargained for with Tampa Bay since O. J Howard got hurt.

With Tampa when they finally get their full compliment of receivers healthy, he may take a little less punishment when catching the ball.

NFL Competition committee discusses 16-team playoff contingency plan

Grant Gordon
NFL.com Digital Content Producer

The NFL Competition Committee, in a Monday meeting, discussed a contingency plan of having a 16-team playoff bracket if upcoming games are lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Monday, per a source informed of the situation.
The current plan of playing 256 games in 17 weeks -- or 18 if necessary -- remains in place and is unchanged. In the event that is not possible to carry out, the committee discussed the contingency plan and parameters of how the postseason would work, Pelissero reported.
The plan would include eight teams from the AFC and NFC, respectively, with each conference's four division champions and four wild-card teams.
The playoffs would have no byes and traditional seeding (No. 1 seed vs. No. 8, No. 2 vs. No. 7, etc.) . After playoff entrants were determined, seeding would be carried out according to winning percentage, regardless of whether teams had the best record in their division, Pelissero added.
If the contingency plan was needed, it would need to be presented to all clubs for approval. Playoff seeds would be 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, 4 vs. 5.

I deleted my post from two days ago [trying not to reveal too much], but Cora agreed to come back.

His game won’t age well, I’d rather have JBJ at 40% the price.

I'd rather personally play left field than bring on two known cheaters in the same offseason
