NCAA Week 9
I wonder what the spread will be for the Notre Dame/Clemson game with Trevor Lawrence out. Any predictions before spreads are released?

Re: NCAA Week 9
I'll guess Clemson -3.5, o/u 47.5
In Bowl games Clemson seems to come up with at least 27-30 points against elite defenses, and they treat this game accordingly. Lawrence's backup was a star recruit who put up nice numbers against BC.
ND's offense is methodical and should find a way to score at least 17, plus probably an extra TD. But they won't be able to get away with playing conservatively (i.e. leaning on the run and avoiding INTs) and we'll see how that goes.
I'd cap Clemson at o/u 27, and Notre Dame at o/u 22, -5 with an o/u of 49, but oddsmakers expect Notre Dame and the under to be trendy bets.
fwiw "Spread Consensus" on oddsshark.com shows -7.5, and probably doesn't take into account Lawrence's absence.

The dreaded in the red zone kneel down cost me a chance in Kent State game.

Re: NCAA Week 9
If I had to single out one pick tomorrow, I'm going Baylor +14 vs Iowa State. Baylor's defense held Texas to 27 points, hasn't allowed more than 33 points, and is better against the pass than the run. I don't think Iowa State scores more than 31. And while Iowa State's defense is also solid, it is a bit susceptible to the pass, and Iowa State hasn't beaten Baylor by more than 14 points since at least 2009.
I feel less confident about Texas Tech +10 vs TCU, but that is a rivalry game, four of the past five matchups have been determined by three points or less, and eight of ten have been decided by 10 points or less, and the road team (Texas Tech) has won each of the last five games. I'm thinking the disparity isn't enough to break trends.

Gotta be kidding me, Texas Tech was down 9, driving down field with strong momentum, then on 2nd down they choose to kick a 37 yd FG, with 2:40 remaining.
They miss the FG, and three plays later on 3rd and 11, TCU's QB runs 81 yards for a TD.

6-3 overall on the week. 38-24-2 overall. 61%. Probably the best start to a year I've had.
