Dedmon not feeling the love?
Answer: Seems reasonable to me.
For now, only five non-free agent vets (Batum in CHA; Green, Curry in GSW; and Rose, Griffin in DET) have been reported to sit out.
None of those are generally considered to be even remotely available in trade.
All of those have injury histories that lend reason for sitting out that Dedmon does not have.

Naaah!
Most vet players aren't participating, it is after all voluntary. Capela and Skal are coming off injuries so they are participating.
Curry and Green for GSW are not as well. Klay is participating since he's coming off the ACL tear.

I think it makes sense to trade him if you're wanting to keep Skal.

Skal is more a PF. Apparently Bruno is impressing in practices, which makes moving Dedmon to fill another position say backup PG ideal.

Re: Dedmon not feeling the love?
Dedmon needs to be playing at a certain level to get decent trade offers. His expiring deal should provide some value. Hopefully Schlenk learned from the past and get something from these guys by the deadline who are not part of the future.

His value is as a stretch 5.

Schlenk hasn't really been in a position to get value for expirings. The best he had was Illy and Belli. He was offered 2nds but the kicker was also taking back long term salary which he wanted to avoid. He hasn't done badly considering:
He got Teague for Crabbe and 2 2nds along with Dedmon. Traded Prince for a mid-lotto since we weren't interested in extending him.

Re: Dedmon not feeling the love?
Oh. You picked up on that did you?
I can do passive aggressive, but some make it an art form that I can never ascend to.
And to your OO comment, it's not as-if you don't just as a matter of routine carry 6 low post players on any given year's roster. The decision was that $13m could be better allocated, and so they flipped a back-up big for a back-up shooter. They still have at least one opening even if they bring back Skal as expected.
Me, I'm on record that I much preferred Haliburton, Haywood and Christian Wood to what seems to be shaping up, but let's see what happens. Right now, it feels like Schlenk may have abandoned practically everything he's ever said about his plans for this off-season.

Believe he had a premonition, Gray... maybe even a hint from the GM, but we'll never know... and it was strong enough to decide he was wasting his time to show up for post-season practice.
