McConnell and Bayno Likely to return

Post#1 » by Scoot McGroot » Sun Nov 8, 2020 7:25 pm

Check out this article from IndyStar:

Insider: T.J. McConnell is expected to stick around with Indiana Pacers

https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nba/pacers/2020/11/08/pacers-news-t-j-mcconnell-expected-stick-indiana-pacers/6213112002/

Indy could have waived McConnell for only a $1m cap hit, saving $2.5m before filling the roster spot.

Also, Bayno likely to return to the staff, and is currently in LA working out with Holiday (I’m guessing Aaron), and Sabonis.

I never got the talk of letting TJ go. He's a good teammate and we can still use his skills, especially if Nate wants to play with more of a tempo.

I never saw it as a serious option, merely an option. At worst, seems like you could keep him and trade him for value later.

Yeah, agree with the above. There was never a chance we would've waived TJ given our payroll situation. There's no way we could've even come close to replacing him with the $1.5m we would've saved.
