They should require more. It's easily the biggest flaw that you see from new attorneys - they just don't know how to write. But I think the courses should involve more practical legal writing exercises than they did when I was in LS about a decade ago. Knowing how to use the bluebook is a very small part of that, IMO.
When I was in college I had both ag professors and psychology professors tell me that technical writing and writing in general is a major weakness for their students. It is a common problem across all fields. We all just suck at writing.

The worst writers I've ever encountered were... aspiring writers in creative writing classes and entry level writing gigs. You couldn't imagine. Think of Philip Seymour Hoffman in the Along Came Polly basketball scene, but as a writer.

This weather is unreal. Have to remember it when we have -20 wind chill in a few weeks
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Work is a big part of it, but there's just so much going on in life these days. It's hard to sit in one place doing one thing for three hours at a time.

Its Sunday and I have about 12 hours of work to do, due Monday. I did nothing yesterday and today I can't even bring myself to even start, it feels like a mountain :(

Thanks man. Symptoms haven't been too bad. My first few days of symptoms included headache, body aches, slight fever then chills. Now mostly just muscle aches and loss of smell. And a little congested.

I haven't had any cough or breathing difficulty, thankfully.

It took literally ten covid tests on Thursday and Friday, but I'm finally gonna see my family tomorrow. Not gonna lie, there will be hugs.

I think this is due to a list attributed to Elmore Leonard, but I try to pare down my writing to use as few adjectives as possible. Use only the essential words and keep it moving. Hundred dollar words have their place, but they should be used sparingly. Jargon needs to be expunged without exception.
