This tweet doesn't even make sense. The only team that Lamelo has interviewed with so far is Minnesota. So, is he saying Minnesota's interview didn't go well?

Or, is it actually some clever disinformation by the Ball camp due to not wanting to play in Minnesota?

I'll say this after watching the video ... sure. LaMelo *could* be a star, but I really don't care for the odds. This isn't like a Porter situation where the talent is obvious and the question is if a young guy can overcome injury or not. With LaMelo the questions are about his mindset and his ability to shoot. Those are entirely different things to have going against you. I would be happy for LaMelo to prove me wrong, but it's not a risk that I would take as the Hornets GM.

For me good landing spots for LaMelo would be the Warrirors (proven winners & lots of shooters), Heat or Spurs (great culture), or Toronto (proven track record of developing guys).

And really this shows what the Hornets need to do as a franchise. They haven't put themselves in the position where they can take these kinds of risks yet.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I think Boston would be good for him.

Get around a guy like Walker who shows what it is like to work his arse off and sets the blue chip example of what is takes to be a humble and top shelf team mate - as well as mentor Ball on fixing his terrible jump shot like Walker did after being in the league for 4 years.

Then, assuming Ball makes it in the NBA, having him focus on being a floor general setting up Walker, Tatum and Brown for easy shots and not having focus on his own offence at all could be ideal for him.

I’d still sprint to the podium for Ball in this scenario, but I’m coming to terms with the fact that our FO probably isn’t drafting him. I’d be more than pleased if we hung out at 3 and took Okongwu.

His defence, while still a concern, is nowhere near as concerning to me as his shot selection and success rate of hitting shots are.

The Draft Express crew is still confident that lamelo will be a top-three selection.

Is he as one hand dominant as his brother? Having a low shot release and being one hand dominant seems like he's more of an offensive project than people think. NBA defenses will absolutely take advantage of those things . I have it in my head that he's a 'greedier' version of his brother which may or may not be fair. (Not necessarily a bad thing either.) I would probably bet on your average NBL team being better than most if not all college teams. So that's not really a concern for me.

I won't be angry if we take him unless Edwards is available even though I do like some other prospects like Hayes better.

on one hand, thank god - because this means we won't draft him

on the other hand, fuuuu - because we can't make detroit and NY bid against each other in a trade for his draft rights

Impossible, Bonnell said he was the biggest slider in the draft

I *hope* he goes first.

The nightmare scenario is LaMelo first and then the Hornets trading up for him. :sigh:

Charlotte's whole draft strategy (or, really...mine) hinges on Ball going before #3. If Ball does get to 3, I would be happy with the Hornets drafting him, but I'd be happier seeing them find a trade partner and gain a good supplemental asset. I still maintain #3 is worth #1 compensation in trade.

I'm blocked from Bonnell, who is he aiming for this year? Who has the kiss of death?

i remember thomas robinson and Len were 2 of his favourites.

This would infuriate me nearly as much as the Kemba fiasco last summer.
