I suspect he stays on a three year deal, $2.4, $2.5, $2.6. Year 2 is guaranteed for $2, Year 3 is a team option, maybe $1 mil guaranteed.

I think he signs it too. I doubt there is a long line of teams looking to sign him, and $5+ mil guaranteed sets him up for life.

In the covid climate I don't think you will see many fully guaranteed multi year deals for fringe players anymore.
I think there will be alot of one year deals.
SInce an offer sheet has to be mutliple guaranteed years, If I don't see him leaving.
I could see something like you mentioned though with the first year guaranteed, the 2nd partially guaranteed, and the 3rd fully unguaranteed.

Hinkie deal. I also remember HOU to Jeremy Lin tricky 5+5+15 offer.

McL has developed from the ground up ... reliable, willing & able, and gets the role. I think it is “he” that has to decide if he wants to have a long career with a safe guaranteed contract at a fair price - or not. $10 million for a 3-year deal (for example) is a boat load of cash for a backup fiddle ... get the job done, maybe sign another 3 years, and walk away a healthy veteran of the NBA. Over price yourself and all of a sudden your a hot potato on the move as trade filler... :-?

I want him back. I already think he's better than Tyus and I liked Tyus.

If wolves go Lamelo at 1, let Jordan walk.

Take Tre Jones or Cassius at 33

Maybe there is a chance no one offers him a contract and wolves can bring him back really cheap.

FA doesn't happen for another 10 days. Not sure what they are waiting for, the season starts on Dec 22 one month later.

This Lamelo junk that ESPN, The Athletic, and Locked on Network are projecting him to the Wolves because he is the best player in the drafts.

I’m thinking the Wolves have done a nice job jacking up Balls value ... the more this thought process is accepted, the better our trade value. I think the Wolves have the media selling the #1

My favorite part was when Rosas mind-controlled most of the other GM’s to say they would take Ball #1 when they really wouldn’t, and then got ESPN, The Athletic, and Locked On, to help him with his conspiracy..

 You’d have to be pretty naive to believe the GM’s would tell ya much of anything ... Oh wait, ESPN, the Athketic, and Locked On maybe sent them all a link to “survey monkey” to fill out a poll on who should go #1

Don’t take mind control For Rosas when he said, “well, most GM’s will tell you Ball is probably their #1 guy” ... then guess what ... ESPN, The Athletic, Licked on reported most GM’s would take Ball #1. Hmmm, maybe he does have mind-control :o

I think you are naive to reject evidence that doesn’t fit your emotional, amateur evaluation of Ball.

As I wrote elsewhere, there is no incentive for “most GM’s” to lie about who they would pick with #1, since it is so unlikely they will have the #1 pick. I have not heard a single poster give any rationale for recreational lying about a pick they will not have. Meanwhile, the cost is losing credibility, for lying when a smokescreen would actually help your team.

Tell me any reason why a team like the Clippers would lie and say they like Ball at #1?

And for the record, I am not a big LaMelo Ball fan.

However, that does not mean I am going to accuse all of the professionals that say they like him of lying.

if we get a decent offer from Charlotte we need to trade down to 3. Then if Ball is still available we need to trade down again.

Only a team with skin in the game (in position to select Ball) is gonna have an honest opinion ... and they are not gonna tell anyone. Have the Wolves stated who the #1 is? Obviously - No. I would not call it lying - more so deflecting and spinning. Look how many rumors the Wolves have been tied to ... different every day. A bunch of GM's in 1-on-1 interviews communicating their teams intel is not gonna happen, but we do consistently see the media taking bits and building narratives that suggest it's legit via "sources*" and tying it to whatever seem credible. I'm not calling you naive, but the concept that these are fact-based reports IS.

if I were a GM I would be very tempted to lie to them just for fun as I consider them to be mostly scum. Klomp that doesn't mean you and I used to be a member of the media myself. That's probably the reason I'm not a GM  .
