Good. Still zero Mavs interest, excellent

Suns insider (not Flex) reported this last week.

This is my prediction:

Suns get: Paul, OKC 25th pick
Thunder get: Wiggins, 2pick
GSW gets Rubio and Oubre

Suns shouldn't need to give up the 10 as they are taking on a massive contract and giving up 2 very valuable players.

DAY-UM! Can't see this going down, but if it did? Does that move help the warriors or is it addition by subtraction? Suns and Thunder come out smelling good af

That doesn’t make a lot of sense for the Warriors

Why would the Warriors trade the #2 pick just for Rubio because Oubre would only be a one year rental, no way they re-sign him to a big contact after this year.

Woj just reported it is gaining traction. So not true.

I am guessing OKC/Phx agreed on terms for three way and announced to find best suitor for Oubre/Rubio

I dont personally see the fit from the Warriors perspective. Im a huge Rubio fan, but Rubio really has no fit with the Warriors and Oubre is a good young player, but not massive trade value. I get that its a bad draft and Wiggins is a negative asset, just feel like the Warriors would look for something different than that return.

Not be Chris Paul

Seems like a big time risk even if the fit works. They are going to get Paul for one or maybe two years so what’s the end goal? Do they believe they are a title team or is it just in the hopes of building a winning culture and it stays after CP3 is gone? Rubio I could of seen with them for another 3-5 years and we all know how long it took the Suns to finally get the right PG

Betting on a 35 year old PG is definitely a risk...but it’s a move they have to make imo. They don’t have the luxury of missing the playoffs year after year. They needed some serious upgrades...even if that’s an upgrade on who might be their second best player in Rubio.

The bubble run set expectations that are probably too high for this team, but they’re stuck with it. If they don’t make the playoffs, it will be a huge disappointment and that’s when Booker will likely ask out. There isn’t another way to get a talent like CP3 with minimal cost like they can now.

OTOH, I don’t like this fit for CP3. He’d fit great with everyone the team...but he’s not a great fit for a team that’s going to need him every night in a tough regular season. He defied the odds last season, but that is not the history of his career.

If the Clippers want a playmaker at point guard, they should try to get Rubio.

I'm curious how this works fit-wise. Has Booker ever had to play with a true PG? I know he had Rubio (at times) last year, but Rubio isn't on the same level as Paul in terms of on-ball and scoring.

Any feedback from Suns fans on this?

There was a poll on the Suns board for the last couple weeks about whether people would trade Rubio and Oubre for him. It was 30% yes and 70% no.

Smoke screen to gauge CP3's trade value. Not much here, no way $arver takes on that contract.

If this involves a swap of 10th pick for 25th this is horrific for the Suns.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Only 2 years left. What do Suns have to lose. Their goal should be to make playoffs

My guess for the deal.

MIA/OKC/PHX

MIA Send: Kelly Olynyk & 2021 1st Round Pick
MIA Receive: Ricky Rubio

OKC Send: Chris Paul
OKC Receive: Kelly Olynyk, Kelly Oubre, Jr. & 2021 MIA 1st Round Pick

PHX Send: Ricky Rubio & Kelly Oubre, Jr.
PHX Receive: Chris Paul

Suns would be must see TV for me assuming Rubio/Oubre is the salary filler here and they’re not giving up any other key guys. Think they’d be knocking on the door of 47-50 wins with this move and barring overwhelming injuries.

Depending on the asking price it could be and Rubio/Oubre would be a strong fit.

If the deal happens, Suns fans will be like thunder fans of last year. Initially not thrilled but they’ll get over it once he’s on the court and they see him play. Yes, he’s old. Yes, he’s overpaid. Yes, he’ll have a huge impact on winning.
