Chuckleslove - RIP :(

Post#1 » by drew881 » Wed Nov 11, 2020 3:53 am

Hi all,

I’m writing with the sad news that one of our posters, Chuckleslove (Chuck Shilling) is in hospice after battling stomach cancer for the past year. I wanted to post here a gofundme page that his wife has set up throughout their ordeal. If we can successfully crowdfund juvenile billboards, surely we can mobilize to help out one of our own and their family: https://gf.me/u/y7abb2

I only had the chance to meet Chuck once, at the Bucks-Pacers game in Indiana when RealGMers came out in full force. Chuck was one of the most outgoing in the group. I’m glad to have been able to know him these past 8 or 9 years online.

I’m sure there are posters on here that know Chuck and his wife better than I do, and I hope postIng this information here is ok. I asked a few others if posting this would be against their wishes, and we thought it was ok.

In case Chuck is reading the board, I hope he can read your posts that you leave here for him to read and of course if you can help out, the gofundme page link is above.

Damn. Very sobering news. My thoughts and prayers are with Chuck and his family.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Man...never really know what's going on behind the screen name. This hits like a truck. Wishing you the best, Chuck - will be thinking about you and your family.

Awful news. Chuck was one of the best posters on this board and always came off as a genuinely kind and engaging person. My prayers are with him and his family.

Love his political Facebook posts even when i don't always agree with his views but don't want to get this topic locked up so I will leave it at that. :)

Keep strong, Chuck!

Agreed! I wanted to post about that too. We don’t agree on a lot, but he was so reasonable to talk to on issues and willing to discuss them without trying to debate you or even convince you of his beliefs.

Hung out with chuck a decent amount of times and I can say with all my heart that he’s truly a great guy.
